Chapter 377 The Hunter's Little Darling 36

Chapter 377 The Hunter's Little Darling 36

Tu Shen got up very early on the day he came down the mountain.

He woke up before dawn, while Xie Qingyu was still asleep when he did.

Tu Shen walked slowly, afraid of waking Xie Qingyu.

After he got up, he first found the clothes Xie Qingyu was going to wear today and put them on the bedside table so that she could touch them as soon as she woke up.

Then he went to the kitchen to make breakfast. He was going down the mountain, and it would be good to bring some dry food along the way, and also some for his cousin.

Xie Qingyu always eats some porridge and simple side dishes. After he prepares them, he puts them all in a pot, covers it, and lets it simmer so that Xie Qingyu can have something hot to eat when she wakes up in the morning.

After doing all that, he began to pack the things he needed to take with him that day, starting with the prey from the past few days.

The processed items were separated from the live ones, and a whole basket was filled with them.

Those that survived were from the last few days, while many that were resolved were from previous days.

Tu Shen thought he should buy more things to take up the mountain this time, so he brought them along.

After tidying up, Tu Shen entered the room. Xie Qingyu was still asleep, completely unaware.

He stepped forward and tucked Xie Qingyu in, his lips moved but he didn't kiss her. He just looked at Xie Qingyu's slightly flushed face and smiled foolishly.

What did he do to deserve such a beautiful wife? If he hadn't taken advantage of her situation this time, he might have missed out.

I wish Xie Qingyu would like him someday.

Tu Shen felt he was being a bit shameless and asking for too much.

Originally, he was only thinking that he would be willing to treat such a wife as a servant even if it meant supporting her. But later, he gradually became dissatisfied and wanted to get closer to her.

Now I'm thinking that I wish she could only have me in her heart.

Tu Shen knew that his thoughts were a bit excessive, but he just couldn't stop thinking like that.

Therefore, he needs to treat Xie Qingyu even better so that she will like him.

Tu Shen left the room, glancing back every few steps, and gently closed the door behind him.

When they were about to leave with their belongings, they locked the door from the outside.

When her cousin arrives, Xie Qingyu can toss the key to the front door from inside.

It's still a while before dawn, and it's not safe to leave it wide open.

It was still dark when Tu Shen went to his second uncle's house to find his cousin.

When he arrived, Uncle Tu's house was brightly lit.

Everyone except my cousin and Ma Erya got up.

Old Lady Tu repeatedly told her cousin to be careful on the road. When she saw Tu Shen coming, she also told him to take good care of her cousin and not let anything happen to him.

My second aunt got up early to prepare some dry food for my cousin to take on the road.

Uncle Tu remained silent, checking whether the baskets containing the prey were sturdy enough.

Tu Shen stood to the side, watching them give instructions. When it was almost time, without Tu Shen having to say anything, Uncle Tu urged them to set off quickly.

"Be careful on your way," Auntie said as she watched the two walk away.

My cousin waved his hand behind him, indicating that they didn't need to worry.

On this misty morning, the two descended the mountain as the sky began to lighten. Given the pace of the two young people, it would be almost dark by the time they reached the bottom.

Meanwhile, Xie Qingyu woke up and instinctively called out for help. When no one answered, she remembered that Tu Shen was supposed to go down the mountain today.

She reached for the clothes by the bedside, put them on, and then groped her way out of the room.

This period of time was enough for Xie Qingyu to become familiar with every corner of the house. Now that she could see the blurry outlines of objects, she could walk without much difficulty, and went to wash up and then to the kitchen.

The porridge that Tu Shen had left for Xie Qingyu in the pot was only slightly warm, which showed that Tu Shen had been gone for some time. There were also boiled eggs that had been exchanged with Aunt Zhao's family.

A while after Xie Qingyu finished eating, her cousin's voice came from the front door.

Xie Qingyu fumbled for the key on the table and handed it to her cousin through the crack in the door.

"Sister-in-law, you're awake! Have you eaten?" my cousin asked as she opened the door.

"I've eaten." Xie Qingyu stepped back to let her in, with Ma Erya following behind her.

"Why are you all here?" Xie Qingyu asked with a smile as she stood at the door.

My cousin smiled and said, "I thought I could get some work done today, so I brought Sister Ma with me. She can help us a lot too."

Ma Erya nodded, "You must be bored at home alone, so we came over to keep you company."

Xie Qingyu raised an eyebrow upon hearing Ma Erya's words, wondering what she was up to.

Knowing that Tu Shen wasn't home, she still came over; it's not like her at all.

"It's good that we can rake it again today and break up the soil a bit, so we can plant the vegetable seeds when your brother comes back tomorrow," Xie Qingyu said.

"That's great, let's get started." The cousin's last sentence was directed at Ma Erya.

My cousin is always very efficient. As she spoke, she started moving a chair towards the gate of the courtyard. It was for Xie Qingyu.

There was a table under the big tree where Xie Qingyu could relax in the shade, and her cousin placed the chairs and some tea in Xie Qingyu's usual spot.

"Sister-in-law, why don't you sit here? I can ask you if I don't understand something." My cousin was already quite adept at it.

"I had your brother make a simple rake yesterday. Try it and see if you can use it," Xie Qingyu said.

My cousin saw the new tool as soon as she came in, and she can't wait to take it out and try it out.

"It feels pretty good, but it's a bit rough," my cousin said honestly after trying it.

"With limited materials, this was only possible by urgently seeking help from others."

"It's alright, there's not much land here anyway, we can make do." My cousin said and started working.

At first, it was fine for her to do it by herself, and Ma Erya could stand by and watch. However, she originally wanted to bring a stool over to sit on, but who knew that her cousin still had many problems.

For example, how to use it, and how deep to rake.

Xie Qingyu couldn't see these things, so she called for Ma Erya, who had to come over and talk to her again and again.

After finally finishing talking to my cousin, who had been working for a while and was covered in sweat and exhausted, I handed her the rake and said, "Let's take turns, this is too tiring."

My cousin was so out of breath when she spoke.

This is really tiring.

By noon, the two of them hadn't even finished half of the task.

"It's noon, time to eat. Sister, thank you for cooking. We'll eat here today." The cousin had naturally already received Tu Shen's instructions.

He gave the rake to Ma Erya and went to the yard to cook.

Ma Erya took the rake but didn't move it. Instead, she stared intently at Xie Qingyu, who was sitting in the chair.

Xie Qingyu's expression was gentle with a smile on her face, her gaze seemingly fixed on Ma Erya.

But Ma Erya knew that she couldn't see it.
