Chapter 365 The Hunter's Little Darling 23
Xie Qingyu raised her eyes and slowly reached out her slender fingers to touch the person in front of her.
Although Tu Shen's words were somewhat forceful, it was still easy to discern the uncertainty hidden within them.
He was probably still unsure whether Xie Qingyu was willing to marry him.
Or perhaps they think that Xie Qingyu is only marrying him now because she really doesn't want to marry Fang Tian.
He had a special feeling when he first saw Xie Qingyu.
When others brought up the matter of urging him to get married soon again, he no longer felt annoyed, but immediately thought of Xie Qingyu.
Now, when people marry into this family, it feels almost unreal.
"Let me see what you look like." Xie Qingyu didn't answer Tu Shen's question directly, but instead reached out and touched his face.
Tu Shen was instantly speechless, not even daring to breathe, as Xie Qingyu's hand meticulously traced his face.
He swallowed nervously twice, watching Xie Qingyu withdraw her hand, observing her expression, wondering if she was dissatisfied with her appearance.
"I can't seem to sense it," Xie Qingyu said. "I'm still not used to this way of recognizing people."
Tu Shen paused for a moment before saying in a low voice, "Your looks aren't shameful."
Xie Qingyu never expected Tu Shen to say such a thing, and immediately burst out laughing.
Tu Shen stared blankly at Xie Qingyu in front of him. He didn't think he had ever seen her smile like this before. So this is what she looks like when she smiles, and she looks so beautiful.
"I'll go get you some water to wash your feet," Tu Shen said abruptly, standing up.
He couldn't ask the questions he originally wanted to, since he had already married his wife and she was now his.
Tu Shen brought warm water to the room and helped Xie Qingyu take off her shoes and socks to wash her feet.
Perhaps it was because Xie Qingyu couldn't see.
After washing and drying Xie Qingyu, he hastily washed his own feet with the water in the basin, tidied himself up, and then closed the door and returned to his room.
Xie Qingyu visibly flinched when she heard the door close, and Tu Shen, who turned around and walked over, saw her clearly.
He paused only slightly before immediately coming to the bedside.
The bed wasn't small, but it felt a bit cramped after Tu Shen lay down on it.
Xie Qingyu tried her best to move further inside, but she was already touching the wall.
After getting into bed, Tu Shen didn't make any moves. However, when he noticed Xie Qingyu still trying to squeeze in, he scooped her into his arms and hugged her from behind.
Xie Qingyu was a small ball, and he held her completely in his arms, as if he could completely envelop her.
Tu Shen's hand landed on her waist, her slender waist like a water snake, which was graceful and attractive when she stood up. Even through her inner garment, he could feel the comfortable curves of her waist.
Noticing his subordinate's body trembling slightly, Tu Shen held back for a moment before speaking, "Sleep peacefully, I won't touch you."
Tu Shen himself didn't know how he came up with those words, but he felt relaxed after saying them.
Perhaps he didn't want to appear as if he would force Xie Qingyu.
Even though he knew that Xie Qingyu probably wouldn't refuse now.
But the thought of taking advantage of someone's misfortune always lingered in his mind.
Sure enough, after he finished speaking, Xie Qingyu in his arms seemed to relax a lot.
Tu Shen also let out a deep breath, but his arms around Xie Qingyu didn't loosen at all. Even though he didn't move, he still wanted to hold his wife.
Xie Qingyu had woken up very early that morning, but as soon as she opened her eyes, the hand around her waist tightened. "Sleep a little longer."
"A new bride has to get up early on her first day..." Xie Qingyu hadn't finished speaking when Tu Shen hugged her again. "There are no elders in the family, so you don't have to get up so early. You can sleep as late as you want."
Xie Qingyu slept very well that night, sleeping soundly in Tu Shen's arms, as if it were a familiar feeling.
So I woke up very early in the morning, and even though I wanted to take a nap, I wasn't sleepy at all. I stayed in bed for a while, but I couldn't stand it anymore, so I got up.
After the wedding banquet last night, Xie Qingyu noticed that no one else seemed to be living in the courtyard, and when she woke up this morning, she found that there was indeed no one there.
The houses on the mountain are generally smaller, there are not many suitable places to build houses, and the houses next to each other are far apart.
Tu Shen's house consisted of two main rooms, a kitchen, and a west room for storing miscellaneous items.
The courtyard was quite spacious and clean, without any of the mess from yesterday's banquet.
However, Xie Qingyu couldn't see any of this. She could only tell from the faint, distant voices of children that the houses on the mountain were quite far apart.
Because she was unfamiliar with the area, Xie Qingyu didn't wander around after leaving home, afraid of running into something.
Tu Shen quickly tidied himself up and then rushed over to take Xie Qingyu to wash up.
He had prepared the willow branches for washing up well in advance, and even asked Xie Qingyu if she needed salt.
He was actually a little disappointed after Xie Qingyu shook her head and refused.
After Xie Qingyu finished washing up, Tu Shen had already prepared a simple meal in the kitchen.
Two dishes, one meat and one vegetable, plus corn buns.
This was the best meal Xie Qingyu had eaten since she came here.
"We used a lot of meat at yesterday's banquet, so there's no fresh meat left. You'll have to make do for now. I'll go hunt some more game today."
Tu Shen's explanation surprised Xie Qingyu.
Thinking of yesterday's wedding scene, she could feel the liveliness even though she couldn't see it; there must have been at least several tables of people, which was quite a lot of stuff.
"Your elders?" Xie Qingyu asked.
Normally, these things should be taken care of by the elders in the family, but since she married into the family, not a single person claiming to be an elder has come over. She doesn't know if they are no longer here or if Tu Shen separated from the family a long time ago.
“Your parents are gone, but your grandmother is still alive and staying with my second uncle. I’ll take you there this afternoon to meet her.” Tu Shen realized he had spoken out of turn and added, “Let them recognize you.”
