Chapter 160 New Cooperation
Chapter 160 New Cooperation
In the weeks following the exhibition, Lin Yue and Li Hao's teams began intensively handling communications with partners. A new round of rural cultural promotion initiatives was about to begin, and many partners they had met at the exhibition were beginning to implement their respective contributions. Lin Yue and Li Hao were busy almost every day, gradually emerging from the shadow cast by Chen Wan.
However, Lin Yue still had some doubts in her heart. She knew that although Chen Wan had not appeared in their lives for the time being, she always had a premonition in her heart that Chen Wan had not really given up.
One afternoon, Lin Yue was reviewing a new promotional material when she heard a knock on the door. She looked up and saw it was Li Hao.
"Lin Yue, this is a cooperation proposal I just received from a media company. See if you are interested." Li Hao put the document on her desk with a smile on his face.
Lin Yue took the document and flipped through a few pages, noting that the other party's planning style was quite novel and would better attract the attention of the younger generation. With a thought, she looked up at Li Hao and said, "This company is good and fits our communication direction. If the cooperation goes smoothly, the project's influence will be further expanded."
Li Hao nodded. "Yes, I think this direction can be further explored. If you agree, I will arrange an initial meeting with them."
Lin Yue smiled and nodded. "Okay, I'll leave the details to you. As long as it's beneficial to the development of the project, we might as well try more."
However, just as the two were busy preparing for their new collaboration, Chen Wan reappeared in their lives. A few days later, Li Hao and Lin Yue went to visit the media company together. As soon as they entered the meeting room, they saw an unexpectedly familiar face - Chen Wan was sitting at the conference table, obviously waiting for them.
Lin Yue's expression was a little stiff for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure and sat down with a professional smile.
Chen Wan smiled at the two of them and said, "What a coincidence! I didn't expect we'd meet again. Actually, I just joined this company. I'll be the project representative for this collaboration and will be following up on the entire process."
Lin Yue's heart sank, but she remained calm and responded politely, "Chen Wan, I really didn't expect you to be in charge of this project. I hope we can have a pleasant cooperation this time."
Chen Wan's smile was still gentle: "Of course, I am also looking forward to working with you." Her eyes were complicated, and she swept over Li Hao calmly, as if hinting at something.
Li Hao frowned slightly, clearly surprised by the situation, but he didn't show any sign of abnormality, remaining focused on discussing the specifics of the project. Lin Yue silently observed the interaction between the two, her inner uneasiness growing. She knew Chen Wan's appearance wasn't accidental, and she wouldn't let her go easily.
As the collaboration progressed, Lin Yue and Li Hao's teams began to closely collaborate with Chen Wan's media company. The project's progress gradually accelerated, and promotional materials were quickly finalized with Chen Wan's assistance. However, Lin Yue remained vigilant, closely monitoring every detail Chen Wan provided.
One morning, Lin Yue was processing documents in the office when Li Hao suddenly knocked on the door and walked in with a complicated look on his face.
"Lin Yue, there is something I need to discuss with you." Li Hao said slowly, with a bit of embarrassment in his tone.
Lin Yue put down the documents in her hand and looked up at him: "What's the matter?"
Li Hao hesitated for a moment and said, "Chen Wan came to me just now and said she had some new ideas for the project's promotion and wanted to talk to me in private."
Lin Yue frowned slightly, feeling a little unhappy. "Why did she want to talk to you alone? If she had any ideas, she could have expressed them in the meeting. Why did she have to communicate privately?"
Li Hao sighed. "I understand your concerns. I've clearly told her that any questions can be raised during the team discussion, but she insisted that some creative ideas need to be discussed face to face."
Lin Yue smiled coldly, a hint of sarcasm in her tone: "Her purpose couldn't be more obvious. Li Hao, I hope you clearly understand that this woman didn't approach you for the project at all."
Li Hao shook his head helplessly: "I know, I will pay attention. But she is the representative of the partner after all, some things need to be handled properly."
Lin Yue's eyes turned cold. "Li Hao, you have to remember that our project is a team effort, not the independent work of one person. We cannot accept anyone trying to use personal connections to influence the project progress."
Li Hao nodded and said in a deep voice, "I will keep my distance and prevent her from affecting the project."
Although Li Hao had explicitly declined Chen Wan's private invitations, Chen Wan frequently sought opportunities to spend time alone with Li Hao at work. While her demeanor appeared professional, she harbored hidden agendas. Whenever she spoke in meetings, she subtly raised questions related to past collaborations with Li Hao, attempting to jog his memory.
Lin Yue watched it all clearly from the side, and her displeasure grew even stronger. She knew that Chen Wan's strategy was to impress Li Hao through subtle influences, gradually closing the distance between them.
After a meeting, Chen Wan deliberately stayed last and casually asked Li Hao, "Li Hao, the way we work now really makes me miss the old days. I remember when we were in college, we collaborated on many projects. It was so simple back then."
Li Hao smiled slightly, with a polite distance: "Yes, but our work is completely different now. After all, everyone has their own direction."
Chen Wan's expression changed slightly, but she still maintained a smile: "Yes, everyone has changed a lot. But I believe that the tacit understanding between us will not change."
Lin Yue stood aside, listening to these words, anger gradually accumulating in her heart. She knew that Chen Wan was trying to win back Li Hao's emotional identification and evoke his nostalgia for the past. This woman didn't put work first at all; she just wanted to take the opportunity to get close to Li Hao.
A few days later, Lin Yue and Li Hao's team held a project promotion meeting with Chen Wan's media company. During the meeting, Chen Wan frequently offered "innovative" suggestions and even took the initiative in several important decisions, attempting to dictate the project's direction.
Lin Yue couldn't stand it any longer and interrupted her at the meeting. He said calmly but firmly, "Chen Wan, our project plan has gone through multiple discussions, and the current direction is not suitable for major adjustments. We will consider your suggestions, but the core plan of the project will not be easily changed."
Chen Wan was stunned for a moment, then revealed a hint of reluctance, but she still kept smiling: "Lin Yue, I just want to make the project more effective. My starting point is also to consider the project."
Lin Yue refused to give in and responded coldly: "Thank you for your kindness, but we have our own team and plan. I hope you can respect our decision."
The atmosphere in the conference room froze for a moment. Everyone held their breath, sensing the invisible struggle between the two. Li Hao sat to the side with a complicated expression, wanting to ease the atmosphere but also unwilling to betray Lin Yue's trust.
Chen Wan's face turned grim under everyone's gaze, but she forced a smile and nodded, "I understand. I'm sorry. Maybe I was overthinking it."
After the meeting, Lin Yue and Li Hao took a walk downstairs in the office, trying to relax. The night breeze was cool, the streets were brightly lit, and the surroundings were silent.
Lin Yue was silent for a moment, and finally spoke slowly: "Li Hao, I know that my behavior today may have been a bit extreme, but I cannot tolerate anyone using personal relationships to affect our work."
Li Hao patted her shoulder gently and said in a gentle tone, "I understand your position, Lin Yue. In fact, I don't like Chen Wan's behavior either. Her persistence is indeed beyond the scope of her profession."
