Chapter 126 I've Lost My Face
Chapter 126 I've Lost My Face
Mo Yu went through a struggle of soul and body in bed before finally getting up.
"Good morning, Xiaoyu," Song Fei waved at her.
"Who invented good morning? Morning is good to whom? The sun is shining in the sky, the flowers are smiling at me, and the birds are saying good morning. Are you sick? Why are you getting up so early?"
Ni Jiamu came out of the kitchen with breakfast in his hand. "You prefer sunset to sunrise, right?"
Mo Yu tilted her head and looked at him with a smile, "Why do you say that?"
"Because you can't get up at sunrise."
"Brother really understands me." Mo Yu gave Ni Jiamu a thumbs up.
"There are still six days left," she counted on her fingers. "Brother Feifei, I have six days left before the performance. What should I do?"
Song Fei smiled and said, "There's a message on your phone."
Mo Yu sucked the oil off her fingers, picked up her phone, and then let out a scream that broke through the entire room.
"What's wrong? Why are you so scared?" Ni Jiamu took Mo Yu's phone and took a look. "Isn't it just that the singer's leg was broken? Did they ask you to sing?"
Mo Yu put the porridge into her mouth with an expressionless face. "But I'm tone-deaf, brother. Others sing for money, but I sing for my life. As soon as I sing, everyone in the audience runs away."
"Brother won't run away." He suppressed a smile.
"Hey, where's the necklace on my neck? I wonder if it's left in the room."
After dinner, Mo Yu hurried to the room to look for the necklace. However, after turning the entire room upside down, there was no trace of the necklace.
At this time, the director sent another message, asking Mo Yu to go to the school activity room to practice singing.
Six days passed quickly. On the day of the New Year's Eve party, Mo Yu sat in the dressing room with her legs shaking like a sieve. She leaned back in the makeup chair and let the makeup artist paint on her face.
"That damn Qiaomu hasn't replied to my messages in so many days. Could Mo Yu have been stabbed?" Lin Xiao held the phone, her brows furrowed so tightly that they could kill a mosquito.
"Xiaoxiao, don't talk to me. I'm so nervous. I'm so embarrassed today that I'm going to be thrown to another planet."
Half an hour later, the party officially began. Mo Yu sat behind the scenes and listened to the host announce the start of the party and the guests attending today.
When she heard Ni Jiamu's name, she lifted a corner of the curtain and saw him sitting in the guest seats. He was wearing a high-end suit and sitting upright. His face was expressionless, he just looked at the stage and clapped in cooperation from time to time.
"Brother Jiamu can make a lot of money in this short time. If it weren't for you, he wouldn't come."
"I'd rather he didn't come. If he doesn't come, I'll be embarrassed. If he comes, I'll also be embarrassed. After tonight, both of us will be embarrassed."
As he was speaking, Ni Jiamu tilted his head slightly, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes. He curled his eyes and mouthed "Come on" to Mo Yu.
Mo Yu was the fifth performer. When her name was called, she was even stunned for a second or two, and it was Lin Xiao who pushed her out.
She closed her eyes and dared not look at the audience below. Her hands holding the microphone were covered in sweat. Suddenly, a beam of light hit her. Mo Yu opened her eyes in horror. Ni Jiamu was sitting in the audience, looking at her tenderly.
The two of them just stared at each other, the light pouring down on them as if covering them with a layer of transparent gauze.
The accompaniment began, and Ni Jiamu quietly beat the rhythm for her with his hands, but she was thinking in her mind how to sing the first sentence.
Sure enough, as soon as she opened her mouth, laughter broke out from the audience. Although she had expected it, she was still caught off guard when it actually happened.
Mo Yu thought that since everyone was laughing, she might as well let herself go and sing randomly. It was not her fault that she was tone-deaf.
At this time, Ni Jiamu stood up. As expected, his brother couldn't stand it anymore and wanted to leave. Mo Yu was very upset. But unexpectedly, Ni Jiamu walked straight to the stage and signaled the staff to turn off the accompaniment.
Then he sat down in front of the piano and said, "I'll lead you in singing. Don't worry, take your time."
As Ni Jiamu's fingers moved, a melodious accompaniment came, and he was humming softly, the sound neither too loud nor too soft, just loud enough for Mo Yu to hear.
Mo Yu followed him, and although her singing was still not perfect, she finally got the tune right. After finally finishing the last line of the lyrics, Ni Jiamu stood up, took Mo Yu's hand, and bowed to the audience.
"I'm sorry for causing everyone's ears pain." Mo Yu said this and ran off the stage, holding up her skirt.
After the New Year's Eve party, the performers from Mo Yu Academy made an appointment to have dinner together. Mo Yu nodded and used a cotton pad to remove the makeup on her face.
"Mo Yu, your brother is here." A girl saw Ni Jiamu at the door and turned to shout at Mo Yu.
"Brother" Mo Yu smiled and ran to him.
"Haven't you eaten yet? I'll wait for you to eat together." Ni Jiamu leaned over and wiped the glitter around her eyes with his hands. "Who put on your makeup? It makes me, Xiaoyu, look old."
"She's just a random invite, maybe she specializes in old age makeup. Brother, we've made plans to have dinner together, so you should go back first."
He twitched his thin lips, his eyes looking at her gently. After a while, he said, "Ask them if they are willing to take me with them. You treat me and I'll pay."
"Okay," Mo Yu turned and went back into the dressing room. When they learned that Ni Jiamu was coming with them, everyone was so excited that they danced with joy, applauding Ni Jiamu's arrival. Only Lin Xiao waved her hand, saying she felt unwell and wanted to go home early. Mo Yu knew she was still worried about Qiao Mu.
After changing clothes, Mo Yu went out with everyone. Ni Jiamu was already waiting at the school gate and even thoughtfully called two more cars.
They came to a hot pot restaurant with a lot of people. Fortunately, Ni Jiamu had booked a private room in advance.
Not long after they ordered the food, Ni Jiamu received a call. He went out to answer the phone and then returned to the private room, smiling at everyone, "I have something to do and can't eat with you. Just order whatever you want and put it on my bill."
"Xiaoyu, call me after you finish eating and I'll pick you up. Don't drink." He leaned over and whispered in Moyu's ear.
After Ni Jiamu left, everyone completely let loose. The minister opened several bottles of red wine, poured a glass and handed it to Mo Yu. "Mo Yu, have a drink. We finally got together for dinner, and thanks to your brother, our costumes and props are the best."
Seeing everyone's enthusiasm, she didn't want to spoil the fun, so she took the cup and drank it all. She found it was quite delicious, so she handed the cup to the minister and said, "Pour me a little more."
After a while, Mo Yu drank half a bottle of wine. She was a little dizzy and her face was red. The other girls present were also very drunk.
Mo Yu picked up her phone and called Ni Jiamu, "Brother, several have fallen."
Hearing Mo Yu's slurred words, "Have you been drinking?"
"I'm going to fall down too after this." After saying that, Mo Yu fell asleep on the table.
When Ni Jiamu arrived, the floor was littered with wine bottles, and Mo Yu was clutching one. "What a drunkard," he tossed the bottle from her hand to the floor and scooped her up like a princess.
"Please send them to the hotel safely." After saying that, Ni Jiamu carried Mo Yu into the car.
After getting in the car, Mo Yu hugged Ni Jiamu's neck tightly and said, "This moves." She touched his Adam's apple and giggled.
Their bodies were pressed tightly together, Mo Yu's hand stroked his Adam's apple, which felt itchy. His body temperature rose rapidly, and his heartbeat became abnormal and pounding wildly. A strange and fierce burning emotion spread through his body like an electric shock, making him numb and trembling.
"No." He pried her hands apart with force, fixed her on the passenger seat, and stood outside the car in the wind for half an hour.
After calming down, he opened the car door and got in. Mo Yu, who was sitting in the passenger seat, had already fallen asleep again. Ni Jiamu tidied up her hair that had been messed up by the wind.
"I've really lost face today."
