Chapter 181 Draco's Troubles
Chapter 181 Draco's Troubles
Draco felt that everyone had been a bit too enthusiastic towards him lately, and it bothered him a bit.
Lucius, Narcissa, Snape and others had the same dream, but adults are much better at controlling their emotions than children.
What a sweet burden!
After once again politely rejecting Pansy's overwhelming, childlike attentions, Draco decided to have a good talk with his friends.
"You guys have been really weird lately." Draco usually always had a smile on his face, but this time he showed a serious expression for once.
He sighed inwardly. It was actually quite funny at first, but he didn't want his friends to treat him like fragile glass.
Of course, he likes to be cared for and valued, and it was for this reason that he did not ask Ian to eliminate Merlin's influence on them immediately.
He also understood Merlin's intention. He simply wanted them to know how much effort and price Draco had paid to make this world have the perfect prerequisites.
He couldn't blame Merlin, after all, in a sense, Merlin was his elder.
"What's going on?" Draco looked at his friends in front of him with a hint of confusion in his tone. His gray-blue eyes scanned them, trying to find the answer from their expressions.
Of course Draco wouldn't be really angry, but he couldn't just tell them, "I know you all had a dream about me." After all, that sounded too ridiculous.
He just hoped his friends would return to normal and stop caring so much about him. If they knew Draco also remembered the dream, he was sure he would be greeted with even more intense and terrifying concern. By then, it wouldn't just be his friends who would get involved; the elders might even get involved.
Hermione and Pansy looked at each other, unable to explain this strange phenomenon. Finally, Blaise bravely stood up and broke the silence.
"We don't know what's going on, but as soon as we woke up, we really, really wanted to be nice to you." Blaise tried to make his eyes look more sincere, trying to make Draco believe what he said.
"Me too!" Theodore quickly agreed, a hint of determination in his deep eyes.
"Me too." Ron raised his arms, his face beaming with enthusiasm.
Draco held his forehead helplessly, and couldn't help but sigh in his heart: What kind of a reason is this... Blaise, what the hell is wrong with you! Where did all your intelligence go?
"Okay, stop doing this and just be normal." After Draco said this, he turned around and strode away. Seeing this, Harry hurriedly followed him.
His friends stood there, looking at each other, at a loss for what to do. However, it didn't take long for them to realize that Draco really didn't like their excessive care and concern.
"Is Draco angry?" Pansy looked in the direction where Draco left with concern.
"Probably not." Ron replied firmly. Knowing Draco well, he knew that Draco would not be angry with them for this matter.
"Everyone's been a little off lately." Hermione reflected on her own behavior thoughtfully.
"But I just can't help wanting to be better to Draco." Neville leaned on the sofa with a lonely look on his face, thinking to himself, would Draco feel tired after doing this again and again?
"Me too..." Pansy bit her lip, feeling equally down. Whenever she saw Draco, she couldn't help but think of the scene in her dream.
"Maybe we should go to Headmaster Dumbledore and Professor Snape to ask if there is any good solution." Hermione suggested. She couldn't help herself.
Ron nodded: "Yeah, let's go find the principal and the others, maybe they can help us."
George and Fred looked at each other and agreed.
So, the group walked towards the principal's office in a mighty procession.
They arrived at the door of the headmaster's office and were about to knock when the door opened by itself. Headmaster Dumbledore looked at them with a smile, as if he had known they would come.
"Come in, children." Headmaster Dumbledore beckoned them in.
Everyone walked into the room and was surprised to find Professor Snape there.
"Headmaster, Professor Snape..." Hermione began, "We've been trying to be nice to Draco lately, but this has been bothering Draco a lot. We'd like to ask if there's any solution."
Headmaster Dumbledore smiled and said, "I understand. This is indeed a difficult question. Severus?"
Professor Snape frowned and said coldly: "This kind of emotional impulse is uncontrollable, but you must learn to restrain yourself."
Ron said unconvincedly, "But it's really hard for us to control it."
Headmaster Dumbledore was silent for a moment, then he said, "I'm glad to see that you're actively seeking help from your teacher when you encounter a problem. However, I can only offer two half-baked suggestions on this issue."
"Which two suggestions, Principal?" everyone asked curiously.
"The first way is to make you forget that unpleasant memory." Dumbledore said in a relaxed tone.
He expressed confidence that if he and Snape performed the operation themselves, there would be absolutely no sequelae.
"No!" "No!" "How can that be?"... Everyone opposed Dumbledore's first plan.
They felt that they couldn't just forget that painful experience. After all, Draco had paid too much for it, and they wanted to remember it.
"In that case, children, are you willing to try to learn how to express yourself correctly?" Dumbledore looked at the group of little animals huddled together and chattering in the office, with no surprise on his face.
"True friendship is not just about caring and taking care of each other, but also about giving support and encouragement when the other person needs it. You need to express your love in the right way, rather than letting it become a burden to the other person," explained Headmaster Dumbledore.
"Draco is Draco. Young gentlemen and young ladies, you should be able to tell them apart, right?" Headmaster Dumbledore's eyes were gentle and deep, as if he could see through everyone's heart.
After hearing the headmaster's words, everyone nodded thoughtfully. They began to reflect on their own behavior, realizing that they might have been too enthusiastic and attentive to Draco, making him feel uncomfortable.
"We know what to do, Headmaster," Hermione said firmly. Her clever mind quickly understood what the Headmaster meant and she was determined to make changes.
"Okay, let's go back. Remember, true friendship is based on mutual respect and understanding." Headmaster Dumbledore looked at them with satisfaction, a glint of trust in his eyes.
Everyone slowly left the headmaster's office, their minds already having the answer. They understood that they needed to give Draco more space and freedom.
Thinking back on their recent performance, everyone couldn't help but hold their foreheads.
Yes, they have gone too far. They always have a sense of unreality and confuse dreams with reality.
Their Draco was strong and tough, gentle and intelligent.
This world will definitely be happy and beautiful, just like what Draco said in the dream.
They are just worrying too much and are too concerned.
They just wanted to be nicer to Draco, but that would be a burden to Draco.
When they found Harry and Draco by the Black Lake, everyone was not as overly enthusiastic as before and behaved much more naturally.
Just like before.
Draco felt the change in his friends. The corners of his mouth rose slightly, and a barely perceptible touch flashed in his eyes.
He still prefers his friends to be free and unrestrained rather than being cautious when they are with him.
Ron and the others sat around Draco, casually talking about some recent incidents, which was warm and beautiful.
Only Hermione felt that this place was more and more familiar the more she looked at it. She couldn't help but feel her heart skip a beat and her eyes unconsciously glanced at Harry.
She looked at Harry's unresponsive expression and thought that she might be overthinking it.
Maybe this place just happened to be similar to where Draco was captured by Barty Crouch Jr.
Draco came out just now mainly because he felt that they needed some space to discuss.
Harry caught up and said nothing. He just silently held Draco's hand and wandered around with him aimlessly.
The two of them unconsciously walked to the edge of the Black Lake.
As he walked deeper, Harry found that this place was becoming more and more familiar.
In a trance, he seemed to see the snow-covered Hogwarts and...Draco lying on the ground!
He paused, his body tense.
"Harry?" Draco knew what Harry was thinking, but this was also the purpose of him bringing Harry here.
He wanted Harry to let go of the burden in his heart.
Although everything about Harry was the same as usual, Draco knew Harry too well and knew the turbulent waves beneath his calmness.
Draco found a random place to sit down, patted the side, and motioned Harry to come over. Harry hesitated for a moment, but finally walked over.
"Harry." Draco looked at him calmly.
Harry stopped walking, his steps so heavy that it seemed as if every step would create a pit. He forced a smile on his face, but it looked so pale and powerless.
"Draco... I suddenly realized that we haven't visited Herbo for a long time. I wonder if it misses us..."
"Harry, come here." Draco just stared at Harry quietly. He knew that Harry would never refuse him, no matter what.
"..." Harry really had never been able to refuse Draco. He slowly walked over to Draco and sat down silently, his eyes wandering, as if he was a little afraid to look Draco in the face.
He turned his head and took in the beautiful scenery before him. It was still autumn, yet he saw a world clad in silver. The wind was biting and icy. Snowflakes fluttered down, blanketing the ground and painting everything a pure white.
Harry hated the color white.
"Harry. I like snow very much." Draco looked ahead and ignored Harry who turned back suddenly.
"Do you like snow?" Draco turned and looked at Harry tenderly.
"When we were little, snowy days were what we looked forward to most." Draco smiled happily.
"We built a big snowman in the garden together, but Sirius broke it. We cried so hard and caught a cold from playing in the snow. Sirius was banned from Malfoy Manor for a few days."
Harry's thoughts also fell into memories following Draco's voice.
Yes, he likes snowy days very much. No, I should say he likes the people who are with him on snowy days.
Harry still remembers that time when they were still children, full of curiosity and longing for the world. Whenever winter came, snowflakes fluttered down, and the whole world became covered in silver, which was beautiful beyond words.
They will have fun in the garden, rolling snowballs, having snowball fights, building snowmen... every activity makes them enjoy themselves.
And that big snowman was the result of their joint efforts. Although it was accidentally broken by Sirius in the end, those happy times will always remain in his heart.
Harry knew that nothing could be hidden from Draco.
"Draco...does it hurt?" Harry felt as if his eyes were a little blurry.
His voice was trembling, and he reached out to touch Draco, then hesitated and wanted to put it down.
Draco threw himself into Harry's arms without hesitation. "It doesn't hurt."
"It doesn't hurt, Harry," Draco repeated.
He felt the wetness on his shoulder, and while he felt distressed, he also secretly had an indescribable feeling.
He raised his hand, moved Harry's head away, and looked at Harry carefully.
His favorite pair of emerald eyes were covered by mist, with a hazy beauty different from usual.
Harry didn't make a sound, just shed tears silently.
Draco didn't use any force, and Harry obediently followed Draco's strength and lowered his head to look at Draco.
How beautiful. Draco couldn't help but think as he looked at Harry's red eyes.
"Harry, mine." You can't show this to anyone else. Draco smiled sweetly. His eyes were full of possessiveness.
Draco liked Harry like this. Looking at Harry's crying face, he felt a tingling electric current running through his body.
He didn't understand this feeling.
Is it love? I don’t know.
But as long as Harry stayed by his side, he would eventually understand, Draco was sure.
"Yeah, Draco's." Harry's biggest fear was that Draco didn't like him. Ever since he had those dreams, he had woken up countless times with a constant feeling of unease.
He felt sorry for Draco, but he also knew that feeling sorry for him was useless.
What has happened cannot be changed, but now and in the future, he will protect Draco and everything Draco loves.
Harry is really easy to coax, as long as Draco still needs him and still likes him.
Call him cold or heartless, he only cares about Draco.
He looked at the possessiveness in Draco's eyes and smiled with satisfaction.
He placed a tender kiss on Draco's forehead.
