Chapter 230: Cutting the Gordian knot
Chapter 230: Cutting the Gordian knot
After the upgrade, he felt that the world in front of him became clearer, and any subtle movement in the dark corners could not escape his eyes.
Now, he doesn't have to worry too much about other evil creatures unless they are evil spirits like Shura.
Seeing that his points had decreased significantly again, Chen Yile shook his head helplessly, and felt heartbroken again.
But now is not the time to worry about these things. He must become stronger so that he can have enough strength to face the next challenges.
After dealing with all this, Chen Yile finally lay down on the bed, closed his eyes and fell asleep.
The next morning, Chen Yile got up at dawn. After a quick wash, he went to the kitchen and saw Lin Feihong preparing breakfast.
"Lin Feihong, let's set off after breakfast." Chen Yile said as he sat down, picked up the bowl and chopsticks in front of him and started eating.
Lin Feihong looked up at him and saw that Chen Yile was in good spirits, so he smiled and said, "It seems like you thought it through last night?"
"Yes, I bought some things. I should be more confident when I go in this time." Chen Yile replied. He looked relaxed, but there was still a hint of uneasiness in his eyes.
"That's good." Lin Feihong nodded and handed him a glass of milk: "Be careful today and try not to confront each other head-on."
"Don't worry." Chen Yile smiled and said, "I'll pay attention."
"But, are you still planning to do a live broadcast today?"
Chen Yile thought for a moment before saying, "No, I plan to tell Zhao Qidong. I'll go get ready."
"Then we'll cut the Gordian knot, sneak in, and find the thing first."
Lin Feihong slammed the table and said, "I thought so too. Damn it! Why should I let him lead me by the nose?"
Chen Yile hummed: "That's decided then."
Afterwards, Chen Yile immediately sent a message to Zhao Qidong, asking him to prepare some things because the hospital was too scary.
Zhao Qidong only replied with one message: Pay attention to your time.
After a simple breakfast, the two packed up their equipment and drove to the abandoned hospital again.
The hospital entrance still looked dilapidated and desolate, with the rusty lock hanging on the iron gate, as if silently warning anyone who wanted to enter.
"It's here again." Lin Feihong stood at the door, looking at the familiar and gloomy scene in front of him, with a hint of helplessness in his tone.
"Come in." Chen Yile gripped the flashlight tightly in his hand and pushed open the heavy iron door. A sharp "creaking" sound echoed in the silent air, as if telling of all the ominous things here.
As the two walked through the hospital gates, thick dust and the smell of decay hit them. Mottled marks on the walls were still visible, and the air was filled with an indescribable chill.
Chen Yile turned on his flashlight, and the beam pierced the darkness, illuminating the corridor before them. Everything here seemed the same as it had been yesterday, but upon closer inspection, there seemed to be a subtle, yet unpredictable, shift.
"Is it the same road as yesterday?" Lin Feihong asked.
"Well, let's try following yesterday's route first." Chen Yile nodded and took the lead. He had a vague feeling that this trip to the hospital would not be as smooth as the last one.
After walking for a while, they arrived at the door of the ward again. Chen Yile pushed the door open and was slightly stunned by the scene around him.
"These symbols..." Chen Yile raised his flashlight and shone it on the strange symbols on the wall. He frowned; the symbols seemed to have changed a little.
"These symbols seem a little different." Lin Feihong also noticed this and walked forward to observe carefully: "These positions seem to have been rearranged."
"It's just as I thought." Chen Yile whispered, "There's definitely something wrong here."
He looked at the symbols carefully and quickly analyzed their meaning in his mind.
He realized that these symbols might not be random, but some kind of special guidance, or a trap.
"Let's keep going and see if we can find anything else." Chen Yile suppressed his doubts and continued to lead Lin Feihong forward.
They walked along the corridor to the end, and the closed door appeared before them again.
Chen Yile pushed the door, but this time it did not open immediately. Instead, it remained tightly closed, as if blocking their progress.
"It seems the door is locked." Lin Feihong tried and found that the door could not be opened.
"It's okay, let's try something tough." Chen Yile took out the Nine Heavens Thunder Array Talisman that he bought in the mall yesterday from his backpack and carefully stuck it on the door.
"What is this?" Lin Feihong asked curiously.
"Secret weapon." Chen Yile smiled and didn't explain further. He knew that at a time like this, the fewer people who knew about it, the better.
He took a deep breath and chanted a spell, and the runes on the talisman instantly lit up, emitting a dazzling light.
With a deafening thunder, the door shattered under the huge force, revealing the dark space inside.
"Okay, let's go in." Chen Yile was the first to cross the threshold, and the beam of the flashlight swept around the room.
This time, they came to a completely unfamiliar space.
The surrounding walls were covered with denser symbols, and many strange instruments were placed on the ground. It looked like a place for some kind of ritual.
"This place is definitely not simple." Lin Feihong tightly grasped the wooden stick in his hand, ready to deal with any emergency at any time.
"Let's go and keep looking. Zhao Qianqian should be somewhere here." Chen Yile said firmly.
He knew there was no turning back now.
In one breath, he whispered the activation spell.
The talisman instantly emitted a dazzling light, and lightning-like energy spread along the crack of the door, and the tightly closed door was instantly shaken open.
"Let's go." Chen Yile put away the talisman and led the way into the door.
The scene behind the door made both of them gasp—it was a room that had been sealed for countless years.
The surrounding walls were covered with messy talismans and broken mirrors, and in the center of the room was a huge coffin!
The lid of the coffin was slightly open, and something seemed to be stirring inside.
"Are you ready?" Lin Feihong tightly grasped the wooden stick, his palms slightly sweating.
"Let's take it one step at a time." Chen Yile took a deep breath and walked towards the coffin step by step.
Chen Yile and Lin Feihong slowly approached the huge coffin.
The lid of the coffin was slightly opened, and a cold breath emanated from the gap, making the surrounding air seem to solidify.
Lin Feihong glanced around vigilantly, tightened his grip on the wooden stick, and whispered nervously, "Brother Chen, do you feel that there's something wrong with the atmosphere here?"
Chen Yile nodded, his eyes fixed on the coffin. "Yes, it's not just the yin energy that's strong, but that power... doesn't seem like an ordinary ghost. Instead, it's more like..."
