Chapter 106 Leosley's Plan (Part 2)
Chapter 106 Leosley's Plan (Part 2)
"Duke, we've arrived."
There was a knock on the door to the Duke's office. The moment the door opened, Leosley, who was sitting behind his desk working on documents, casually put the tea leaves back into the drawer.
Well, it would be bad if the head nurse found out about the new tea from Chenyu Valley.
"Mr. Mu Feng, Head Nurse, good evening."
Leosley nodded to Mu Feng and Siegwen as they entered the office, seemingly unsurprised by Mu Feng's unpredictable appearances in the Mello Petersburg.
"Duke, it's been a long time."
Mu Feng gave a brief response to Leosley's greeting, then turned his gaze to Julius and Lulvie, who were standing to the side of the office whispering to each other.
Actually, it probably hasn't been that long since we last met.
Recalling a familiar conversation that had taken place in this office a month earlier, Leosley tactfully skipped over the topic.
"Your Grace, the final drawings are essentially complete. Please take a look."
Julius placed a thick stack of what appeared to be freshly completed handwritten manuscripts on Leosley's desk and quietly retreated to Lulvie's side.
Leosley didn't look at the complex and detailed blueprints, but instead turned his gaze to Mu Feng, who was feeding Siegwen desserts in his arms, and his lips twitched imperceptibly.
"Cough cough..."
Clearing his throat, the weary warden glanced at Julius and Lourvie, who were whispering in the corner, and felt that the atmosphere in the Duke's office was somewhat out of place.
“Julius, explain your design.”
Julius, his private moment interrupted, sighed reluctantly and began to introduce his lifeboat design to the remaining four people in the office.
There's nothing we can do; it's another day of injuries for working people.

"In short, when the prophesied flood comes, this lifeboat will at least be able to safely evacuate all the people of Melo Petersburg."
Julius proudly pointed to the giant ship on the blueprint, as if he could already see it sailing across the sea.
"However, we still have some problems that we cannot solve."
Leosley crossed his arms and calmly poured cold water on the passionate Julius.
“We have sufficient manpower and machinery, and Julius and Lulvie, as project leaders and talents from the Fontaine Academy, have already completed the basic structure of the ship.”
With that, Leosley led everyone into the secret passage beneath the Duke's office.
Rusty pipes meandered downwards, and at the end of the damp passage, the keel of a massive metal ship stood silently at the edge of the cave.
"As you can see, we have been unable to solve the critical problem of energy and power."
Looking at the ship under construction from afar, Lulvie said with a hint of regret.
Energy...power...
Mu Feng gazed at the nascent "Noah's Ark" in the center of the cave, pondering how to obtain technological support.
In Teyvat, scientific and technological research is basically concentrated in two places: the Church Council, the political and religious organization in Sumeru, and the Fontaine Academy, which is dedicated to research.
Leosley's plan was essentially underground research, and while the Academy of Sciences was powerless to interfere in the state within a state of Melo Petersburg, it was also impossible for them to provide assistance.
As for the Order of Religion...
Nasita is most likely still under house arrest by the Sage in the Pure Good Palace, and the Sumeru region is still in chaos. It is unlikely that she would care about the situation in Fontaine, let alone offer any help.
In the original storyline, Leosley only managed to complete the construction just before the disaster struck, which may also be related to the fact that Yingmei's time to liberate Sumeru was not long.
If we wait for Yingmei to leisurely finish farming, grinding through the main storyline, clearing the forest book, running through the desert book list, and completing the Flower God book, it will likely be too late for Fontaine to catch up.
"Therefore, I hope to reach some cooperation with the Fools within an appropriate scope."
Leosley stared intently at the pensive Mu Feng, then slowly made his request, emphasizing the word "suitable" in his tone.
Mu Feng was not surprised that Leosley knew about his relationship with the House of Hearths. How could a duke who controlled Mello Petersburg be completely cut off from information from the outside world?
Most importantly, he never tried to avoid anyone when entering and leaving the fireplace house.
He, Mu, never lives off women. He usually prefers to cook raw rice into soft rice, and then force himself to eat it!
Staring at Mu Feng's suddenly slightly proud expression, Siegwen puffed out her cheeks, tugged at Mu Feng's sleeve angrily, and her beautiful ruby eyes gleamed with a mysterious light.
Threatened by the little guy's gaze, Mu Feng silently withdrew his proud expression. If the scene weren't so inappropriate, he might have even performed a lightning-fast knee slide.
"I'm sorry, it seems we can't provide effective technology either."
However, after careful consideration, Mu Feng rejected Leosley's proposal.
"The House of Hearths that I am familiar with belongs to an intelligence organization and cannot directly provide assistance to Mello Petersburg."
"Most of the Fools' executives operate independently, with the centrally-controlled executive in charge of mechanical manufacturing being the seventh-ranking executive, 'Puppet.'"
“Miss Puppet has a rather eccentric personality. Pei… uh, Arecino isn’t exactly familiar with her, and given that she’s been stationed at the Winter Mechanical Workshop for many years, we probably don’t have any opportunity to reach a cooperation agreement.”
Mu Feng helplessly shrugged. It wasn't that he was unwilling to help, but rather that he genuinely felt powerless to do so.
"I understand, thank you for your honesty."
Leosley didn't seem too disappointed; he simply rested his chin on his hand and continued to ponder his next move.
"There's no need to worry. I'm about to set off for Mondstadt, and I'll submit an application for assistance to the Council of the Church when I pass through the port of Memoos."
Holding the script, Mu Feng wasn't too worried. Even without external assistance, Julius and Lulvie, these two technical talents, would eventually be able to build the ship.
If all else fails, start with Yingmei and head straight to the Stormterror's Lair. Inazuma from Liyue will engage in a passionate battle with Osel and Aying. Once you reach Sumeru, head straight to the Palace of Pure Land and dismantle the scattered Gundams. The main strategy is a fast-paced, quick-run game.
Skipping the process and going straight to the result, hehehe, young Yingmei, feel the gaze of the "end"!
"Aqiu!"
In Mondstadt, Yingmei, who had just woken up and was fishing listlessly on Eagle Beach, sneezed. Her fishing rod trembled, and the big fish she had just caught vanished instantly.
"What bad luck! Where did my brother go?!"
Frustrated, Ying pounded her thigh and dejectedly resumed the long wait.
Hopefully I can catch a big fish today.
Yingmei, who knew nothing about the future, thought to herself.
……
"This is the best thing."
In the basement, Leosley's furrowed brows relaxed slightly, though a hint of anxiety still lingered in his expression.
"Huh? Do you think our ship can fly? Is the spaceship that the little reporter mentioned last time capable of holding weddings?"
"How should I know... A spaceship is a spaceship, and a wedding is a wedding. What does it have to do with us?"
Why are you looking at me like that?
"Yeah, but what does it have to do with us?"
The sound of rustling conversation drifted over. Leosley, his face full of black lines, looked at the two absent-minded researchers lagging behind, sighed helplessly, and then turned to Mu Feng to finalize some key technical points.
"Mr. Mu Feng, the specifics..."
"Brother Mufeng, can we hold our wedding on the spaceship sometime in the future?"
"As long as Siegwen is happy, that's fine."
The warden fell silent, and the young duke finally understood what it meant to feel out of place—that he should be under the car and not inside.
There are five people, and four couples.
Leosley, you're not one of them.
……
P.S.: Happy Birthday, Fufu!
