Chapter 21 The Boy in the Woods' Plea for Help
Chapter 21 The Boy in the Woods' Plea for Help
After saying that, Du Yin turned and dashed into the room in a flash. Song Chaofeng rolled his eyes in exasperation, "What's with the attitude? Do you think you're afraid of her once you're inside?"
After saying that, he looked down at Tao Tao and said, "After we go in, let's try to avoid them and find the medicinal herbs first."
"Aren't you afraid of her?" Tao Tao tilted his head, looking completely bewildered, his big eyes filled with confusion. Song Chaofeng wouldn't admit that he was afraid, and he said irritably, "Of course I'm not afraid. I just want to finish the mission as soon as possible, after all, that's the most important thing."
Once everyone had entered, Tao Tao and Song Chaofeng also took action, each unleashing their respective magical artifacts and entering the forbidden gate.
After a moment of dizziness, Tao Tao opened his eyes with a puzzled look and found himself in a vast open field, surrounded by dense forests that stretched as far as the eye could see. He could hear birds chirping and insects chirping occasionally from the grass.
Is this the Abyss of Shattered Spirits?
Tao Tao wasn't interested in these things, and he had never seen any related scrolls before. He had only heard his master say that this place was dangerous and that he should be careful, especially about people from other sects.
She first looked around and found that there was no one there. She had entered with Song Chaofeng, but it seemed that he had not fallen into the same place as her.
Since Song Chaofeng wasn't traveling with her, she had to rely on herself. Tao Tao opened the scroll and glanced at it. The complex terrain on it gave her a headache. She was also very hungry and had no idea where to go.
Just then, a strange fragrance wafted from not far away, which immediately roused her from her hunger. She quickly grabbed the scroll and ran towards the direction from which the fragrance was coming.
The woods ahead grew increasingly dense, the trees were exceptionally thick, and the depths ahead seemed unfathomable, filled with a chilling atmosphere.
Based on the state of the trees here, Tao Tao glanced at the map and roughly guessed that she was in the Secret Bone Forest, the northernmost part of Sha Ling Yuan, and there just happened to be a medicinal herb that she needed to collect in the Secret Bone Forest.
"Should we go southeast?" Tao Tao studied the map on the scroll over and over again, but still couldn't figure out which way to go. So he simply rolled up the scroll, pushed off with his legs, and with a "whoosh," he leaped up the tall tree trunk, his body moving extremely nimbly among the trees.
"Help! Is anyone there? Please help me..."
Just as she was crossing the woods, she suddenly heard a cry for help. Tao Tao immediately stopped and looked down, only to see a boy dressed in Wujizhai clothing wrapped in layers of spider webs, hanging upside down between two trees. Below his head was a patch of black mud, which was emitting a faint, strange fragrance.
The fragrance was actually coming from here!
Even though Tao Tao was very greedy, she lost all interest when she saw the mud. She grabbed the tree trunk and flipped down, landing on a branch a little closer to the boy. She looked at him and asked, "How did you get trapped in the spider web?"
"Be careful, these are all invisible spider webs, not visible to the naked eye. They only become visible when you get close and stuck. I suspect they are the work of the Crystal Flower Poison Spider. It is best at luring its enemies. Once you fall into the web, it is very difficult to escape and you can only wait to die."
The boy hurriedly reminded him, his face turning pale. The long sword he was wearing was lifelessly stuck in the mud, and no spiritual power could be felt at all.
He was probably trapped in the spider web and used all his spiritual power to break free, but to no avail, so he could only surrender and beg for help from those around him.
"What is that? Can we eat it?"
Tao Tao blinked her big eyes and asked an extremely innocent question, which made the boy's head spin. He wondered if the other person was an idiot, but if she was an idiot, why would she participate in the trial of the Sha Ling Abyss?
"It's already a good thing it didn't eat you, and you're still thinking about eating it!" The boy suddenly opened his eyes wide and shouted, "Quick, it's coming!"
Suddenly, there was a rustling sound in the woods, and a chilling aura came from behind Tao Tao. She turned around sharply and saw a giant spider leaping towards her. Fortunately, she reacted quickly, kicked off with both feet, jumped onto the tree trunk above, and used the Jadeite Double Rings to smash the spider's head.
Driven by Tao Tao, the Jade Rings grew larger and larger, slamming into the spider's head with a "bang." However, this attack did not seem to harm the spider at all; instead, it enraged it. The spider's eyes turned blood red, its abdomen contracted forcefully, and it turned around, shooting its web at Tao Tao.
"Be careful not to get stuck in the spider silk. There's more spider silk behind you. Try burning it with fire!"
The boy was trapped in the spider web and couldn't move. He could only shout for help, sweating profusely with anxiety.
It was a rare opportunity for someone to appear and save him. If Tao Tao also perished here, then he would be basically hopeless. He could only do his best to help her.
"Fire?" Upon hearing this, Tao Tao had a sudden inspiration. While dodging, she kept rummaging through her storage bracelet. Most of the items in her storage bracelet were food, and she didn't have many magical artifacts, except for a few talismans and thunderfire beads that her senior brothers and sisters had insisted on giving her before she set off.
I don't know if it will work.
Tao Tao didn't care about anything else. He took out the Thunderfire Pearl and threw it at the spider while throwing out several Explosion Talismans. The talisman paper covered the Thunderfire Pearl and exploded with a bang, making a crackling sound. Sparks flew in all directions in the air, attacking indiscriminately. The hidden spider silk could not be spared either, and it was quickly ignited after being stuck to the sparks.
There really was transparent spider silk! Her eyes widened in surprise.
"Fire really works. Do you have any more? Get some more and burn off all the spider silk on my body. I'll help you deal with this big guy."
Seeing that it worked, the boy shouted again, hoping that Tao Tao could help him get rid of the spider silk on his body.
"Yes, there is." Tao Tao nodded and began to search for the storage bracelet again. The spider was afraid of fire and dared not attack rashly. It spat out a spider silk and instantly darted up to the treetop and disappeared.
It probably planned to launch a sneak attack and swallow Tao Tao whole when she wasn't paying attention.
"If you're available, hurry up and throw it over. That guy hasn't left yet, and he might suddenly pop out at any time. The two of us will have a much better chance of winning."
The boy grew impatient and urged him urgently. Upon hearing this, Tao Tao nodded and immediately took out five or six Thunderfire Pearls, throwing them at the boy while activating the talisman. The boy's eyes widened in astonishment.
Are they going to blow him up too?!
Bang bang bang!
Several loud bangs followed, and the air was filled with the pungent smell of burning spider silk. Birds flew around the forest, creating a noisy commotion.
Tao Tao didn't care about the boy's situation. With a quick thought, she pricked up her ears and listened intently to the surrounding movements, trying to pinpoint the exact location of the Crystal Flower Poison Spider.
