Chapter 629 World 87
Chapter 629 World 87
"Stella?"
Hearing Catherine's voice, Stella snapped out of her reverie and pointed out the direction Catherine had been looking.
"The gift I gave you last time was bought from that stall."
"Oh?" Catherine became interested and went over with Stella, and sure enough, they saw a lot of beautiful stones.
Stella didn't pick much this time, but Catherine did choose quite a few.
“When we get back, I’ll make a fish tank for my father,” Catherine said slyly, leaning closer to Stella. “Maybe he’ll be so happy that he’ll reimburse me for all the expenses this time?”
Stella whispered back, "Then remember to pick out some special ones and plant some aquatic plants in them."
Catherine readily accepted her suggestion, and after selecting the stones, she went to select the water plants.
When they went out, Charlie and Romeo, who had disguised himself, came out with them, standing behind them and acting as their bodyguards.
After shopping for a while, Catherine bought quite a few things. She put the valuable items directly into her storage ring, and handed the food she was about to eat to Charlie and Romeo to carry.
Whether it was a coincidence or not, there were suddenly many more people on the street. Stella was only two steps behind Catherine and the others when she was grabbed by the wrist and led to a small shop.
Before she could resist, Stella recognized who it was and obediently followed them.
Once they reached the small private room where they could talk, Stella finally spoke: "Your Majesty, when did you arrive?"
"Today," the Elf King asked, "you moved into the house of the rebel god?"
Stella nodded and recounted how she almost left yesterday but was stopped halfway, and then specifically mentioned Joe, the butler at her current residence.
"Your Majesty, is this Joe related to that vampire prince?"
The Elf King thought for a moment: "Among the older vampire princes, there is no one named Joe, but it is possible that he was newly appointed or did not use his real name."
“Your Majesty,” Stella cleared her throat, “how many years ago are you referring to by ‘older’?”
“Five thousand years?” The Elf King paused. “Perhaps it was a thousand years ago as well. The vampires have never changed much.”
“Oh,” Stella tactfully changed the subject, “Your Majesty, do you have some plans for coming here early?”
“We’ve only found out a few things,” the Elf King said. “The one who was captured isn’t a true dragon, but he’s a hybrid.”
"The people at the auction house used Andrei's scales to activate the bloodline of the hybrid dragon, temporarily concealing his aura, and then used magic to disguise him as Andrei."
“Some dragons who were out on business have already fallen for the trap, and we are planning to rescue them.”
At this point, the Elf King paused subtly, still unable to resist the urge to complain: "They did bring magical tools for communication, but none of them thought to ask like you did. A bunch of dragons can't even muster one brain."
Stella couldn't help but laugh, and could only cover it up with a cough: "Did the king inform Savison?"
“He has arrived,” said the Elf King, “and is finding a place outside the city to train dragons.”
Stella could easily imagine Savison's exasperated look, and she reached out to rub her face: "So, I guess I was just being presumptuous."
"I thought they were coming for me."
“They were definitely after you,” the door opened from the outside, and Savison came in with several dragons who had been bruised and battered. “These idiots just happened to run into them and almost got wiped out by the other side and became the new auction items.”
Savison spoke without holding back. The dragons behind him, who had transformed into human form and were originally tall and strong, now looked like quails and couldn't utter a single word in rebuttal.
The mirror around Stella's waist began to heat up.
"Your Majesty, I must go. I just disappeared suddenly, and Catherine must be looking for me."
The Elf King nodded, letting her go, but added a reminder: "Don't go out tonight."
Savison added from the side, "Going out is fine, but you probably won't be able to attend the auction tomorrow."
Savison's eyes blazed with fury, and the dragons behind him hurriedly followed suit, pledging their loyalty.
Stella watched without blinking, saying she was going to leave, but her legs seemed rooted to the spot and she couldn't move at all.
The Elf King walked to Stella's side, blocking her view.
Although he didn't speak, Stella felt that the look in the king's eyes said it all.
Stella immediately straightened her posture, went out the door, and quickly found Catherine.
Catherine was very worried because Stella had gone missing, and Romeo and Charlie were also sent out to look for her.
“Stella,” Catherine said, though she couldn’t see Stella’s face clearly under the hood, she was relieved to confirm it was her. “Where did you go? How did you suddenly disappear?”
“I saw something interesting,” Stella said. “I’ll tell you when we get back.”
Perhaps it was the cheerful tone in Stella's voice that made Catherine momentarily think about going back right now.
However, Catherine managed to stay calm. After calling Charlie and Romeo back, she pretended to wander around for a bit more before hurrying back.
Charlie and the others assumed that Stella's sudden separation from her family had alerted Catherine, who was worried something might have happened, and that's why she had gone back early.
The fact that Catherine immediately pulled Stella back into the house after entering the room seemed to confirm their suspicions.
However, Stella and Catherine knew very well that the truth was completely different.
Back in her room, Catherine remembered the guesses she and Stella had made earlier, and took the initiative to check the room first.
Stella also looked at the mirror left in the room, but saw nothing unusual.
“Looks like you won, Stella,” Catherine said, putting the matter out of her mind and pulling Stella to sit down. “What interesting thing did you see just now?”
Stella activated a magic circle to block prying eyes: "I saw a real dragon."
“A real dragon,” Catherine exclaimed softly, covering her mouth. “No wonder you were so late, Stella. If that’s the case, it makes sense.”
"They must have heard about the last item in the auction, which is why they came, right?"
"Stella, do you know what their plans are?"
Stella understood the principle that secrets will be leaked if they are not kept.
She shrugged at Catherine: “I don’t know, they only gave me a hint, but I can’t tell you now.”
“Alright then,” Catherine’s disappointment was only momentary, and she immediately made a bold guess, “With the dragons showing up, the auction house is definitely not going to do well.”
"I hope this matter blows up a bit more, so we can enjoy the show."
Although Catherine and the rebels are now nominally allies and collaborators.
But deep down, Catherine was quite happy to see them have fun, and it would be even better if things got a little more chaotic, giving her more opportunities.
Catherine and Stella talked for a long time, and they didn't rest until late at night.
Just as she was about to stop and cover herself with the blanket, a loud bang shook the entire chaotic city.
Catherine practically sprang out of bed, her eyes wide with anticipation, devoid of sleepiness.
"Stella, listen in that direction, isn't that an auction house?"
