Chapter 313 - 315: Got Cancer
Chapter 313 - 315: Got Cancer
The two Evil Ghosts hadn’t even recovered when, in the next instant, a flame ignited at Su Nian’s fingertips.
At some point, she had slipped a talisman between her index and middle fingers.
The talisman paper caught fire, its faint smoke dispersing into the air.
The smoke slowly drifted toward the two Evil Ghosts. Soon, they were completely enveloped and vanished from the bus.
[Damn! No matter how many times I see it, that move is so badass!]
[That was seriously cool, you know what I mean?]
The other passengers on the bus witnessed the incredible scene. They were stunned, but no one dared to say another word.
’This girl is both fierce and powerful. If we say too much, she might just slap us. Who knows?’
Su Nian walked to the driver’s seat and drove the bus back toward the city center. The moment the sprawling city lights came into view...
...many of the passengers burst into tears. God only knew what they had just been through on that bus!
’We have to tell everyone about this when we get back.’
But they didn’t have time to celebrate. The moment Su Nian stopped the bus, a group of police officers swarmed it. They held out non-disclosure agreements, telling everyone to sign them.
If word of today’s events got out, they would be committing a crime.
The one leading the team was the same police chief from the other day. He was looking at Su Nian now.
He remembered how this bus had appeared out of thin air in the middle of a city road, and his heart filled with a bit more respect and an inexplicable fear for Su Nian.
It was just too incredible, and too bizarre.
But before he could say much, Su Nian got off the bus and walked away briskly.
It was already close to midnight. Su Nian looked at her live stream room and saw that many people were still lingering.
She made a decisive choice. ’Might as well take care of one more thing.’
"Is my second client whom I had to stand up today still online? I can do your reading now for free to make up for it."
Su Nian only asked, not holding out much hope.
She thought the person had probably gone to bed already. Unexpectedly, an excited girl suddenly appeared in the comments.
[That’s me, that’s me, that’s me! I knew the host would keep her word!!]
The girl seemed very excited, posting several comments in a row in the live stream chat.
[Ugh, I’m so jealous!]
[I thought there’d be a lottery. Oh well!]
[The host is just following the rules. That young cop just now was pretty handsome, I liked him!]
Su Nian glanced at the girl’s account and said no more.
"Can you do a video call? Or you can just state your problem directly."
But the girl got excited.
[I can do a video call!]
Before Su Nian could even send her an invitation, a video call request popped up on her end.
Soon, the phone screen split in two. Su Nian was on one side, and the girl was on the other.
The girl was very pretty and had delicate features, but she had a piercing on her eyebrow and below her lip, giving her an edgy, somewhat cool look.
She seemed to have already taken off her makeup and was relaxing. Sitting on her bed, she looked at Su Nian with pleasant surprise. She came across as a very straightforward and unpretentious girl.
"Hi, Host! You can just call me Coco!"
But the comments in the chat turned sarcastic.
[What kind of name is that? It’s not quite local, not quite foreign!]
[And what’s with that eyebrow stud and lip ring?]
[I can’t even. Oh my god, how can people like this exist?]
[Trying to be trendy on one hand, but believing in our country’s traditional culture on the other. Isn’t that just pathetic?]
All sorts of sarcastic and mocking comments scrolled across the screen, but the girl acted as if she couldn’t see them.
Su Nian glanced at her, confirming she was the client and wasn’t lying.
She also observed that there was no obvious dark energy on the girl’s face. Her features were clear, and though her style was a bit edgy...
...the girl was a good person. Although she looked a bit tired, Su Nian smiled and asked, "What aspect of your life would you like me to read?"
At the mention of this, the girl’s face fell, and she looked incredibly sad.
"Master, I went to the Daoist Temple to find you today because I wanted to ask you to do a reading on my love life. I was originally planning to just go with the flow and rely on the lottery, but it’s an emergency, so I flew over to find you at the Daoist Temple!"
[Same! I never get picked either!]
[Sigh. Going to the Daoist Temple is too far. I just don’t have the time or money for that.]
[So jealous. You can tell this girl’s family is well-off. She must be in a hotel right now. Taking a spur-of-the-moment trip just to get her fortune told.]
[Yeah, I think that’s so wonderful.]
[Sigh. This eagle of a woman is overcome with jealousy.]
Su Nian looked at her brow and began to calculate lightly with her fingers.
"Your features are well-proportioned, your lips are a little full. You have an outgoing and helpful personality, which has allowed you to meet many helpful people."
"Furthermore, your parents are open-minded and have given you a lot of support."
"However, your eyes, although they are clear and well-set, are a little too close together. Moreover, you happen to have a mole, and the position of this mole is very unfortunate, as it blocks your fortune in love."
"And looking at your ’Palace of Marriage,’ I see a faint mark left behind. You must have had a boyfriend you were with for a long time, right?"
As usual, Su Nian first gave a general analysis of her facial features and a rough summary of her personal situation, then brought up her boyfriend.
"Yes, yes, yes! Master, you’re so right, that’s pretty much it. I had a boyfriend, and we were together for many years."
"We were together for eleven years. I never expected him to suddenly break up with me. We’d been together since high school, and I’m 28 now. But a little while ago, he left because he got cancer and didn’t want to be a burden on me."
"I feel such regret in my heart. He said he didn’t want to drag me down, so he just went far away, and I can’t find him no matter how I try! Master, can you help me? I really want to find him. I want to tell him that I love him, that I don’t care if he has cancer, and that I’m willing to go register our marriage with him right now!"
The young woman spoke with a determined expression, even shedding a few tears at the most moving parts.
[Sigh, I totally misjudged her. With that wild style, I thought she was some kind of player.]
[Oh my god, a relationship of eleven years. Damn, she’s something else.]
[Sigh, and the guy, don’t you think he’s a good person too? He got cancer and didn’t want to burden his girlfriend, so he left quietly.]
[Sigh, I’m literally crying. What kind of love story is this?]
[A tigress of a woman is shedding tears in the middle of the night.]
Looking at the young woman, who had lowered her head, unable to control her sorrow...
...Su Nian, however, gave a strange smile. She raised an eyebrow and asked the girl, "Are you sure he really has cancer?"
The girl choked back sobs but didn’t forget to answer, "I found his cancer report by accident. I didn’t understand it at first, but then I took a picture and sent it to a friend. That’s when I found out that he already..."
The girl didn’t finish her sentence, but the audience all understood.
The girl was mourning for her supposedly dying boyfriend, and the live stream chat was incredibly moved by this fairytale romance—until Su Nian’s cold voice cut in.
"But he’s getting engaged tomorrow."
