Chapter 154 Medical Clinic
At night, Ren Siyao sat curled up on the sofa, hugging a cushion and staring blankly at the TV.
The TV was playing the idol drama she watched every night; the images were on her eyes, but didn't register in her brain at all.
"What's wrong, Siyao?"
Gao Xuan had just entered the house when he saw this scene with his daughter.
Ren Siyao usually watched with great enthusiasm, gesturing wildly and muttering to herself.
Something is amiss today.
"Siyao?" Gao Xuan walked up to Ren Siyao and waved his hand in front of her eyes.
Ren Siyao's body trembled, and she came to her senses: "Dad, you're back?"
"What's wrong? Is something on your mind?" Gao Xuan asked.
Gao Xuan immediately connected Ren Siyao's reaction with the kidnapping a few days ago.
Gao Xuan has been investigating tirelessly for the past two days, searching the entire city of Shancheng, but has found nothing. The only option now is to expand the scope of the investigation.
"It's nothing," Ren Siyao replied casually, then lowered her head, lost in thought.
Seeing Ren Siyao's state, Gao Xuan quickly ran to her side and asked, "Have you fallen for someone again?"
"I won't stop you from dating, but you absolutely must not reveal your identity to the other person, understand?"
Ren Siyao fell in love with a classmate a few years ago. After they reciprocated their feelings, she revealed her true identity. However, Gao Xuan found out about this and broke the boy's arms and legs, kicking him out of the mountain city.
Gao Xuan was worried that if the information were leaked, it could bring Ren Siyao to her death.
"No! I don't have anyone I like." Ren Siyao looked displeased, turned and ran back to her bedroom, locking herself in.
In the bedroom, Ren Siyao lay on the bed, burying her head under the covers.
Although she had long since stopped liking that classmate, the memory of him having his arms and legs broken was still vivid in her mind.
If Gao Xuan found out that the man she had fallen for was married, he would probably bury him alive.
Ren Siyao suddenly sat up and sighed, "Is this what you call liking someone?"
She was a little unsure about her feelings for Lin Fan—was it liking or gratitude?

The next morning, at the Lingjue Peak Villa.
Lin Fan sat at the breakfast table, eating his breakfast while glancing at Su Ruowei beside him from time to time.
Su Ruowei was radiant and in a good mood.
What happened? I was so angry last night, I even kicked him, but I felt better after a good night's sleep?
Lin Fan couldn't understand, so he asked quietly, "Ruowei, are you not angry anymore?"
"Angry? Why are you angry?" Su Ruowei asked while peeling an egg.
Lin Fan frowned; "Then why did you kick me last night?"
Su Ruowei had just finished peeling an egg, opened her small mouth and took a big bite: "Don't you understand?"
Lin Fan swallowed, and for some reason, he suddenly felt a dull pain down there.
He said awkwardly, "Understand what?"
Su Ruowei sighed, "Is this a matter of whether it sounds good or not? Don't you have any self-awareness about why your name was included?"
"Oh!" Lin Fan suddenly realized: "Proof of marital property?"
"Get lost!" Su Ruowei said irritably.
After breakfast, Lin Fan drove Su Ruowei to work.
Su Ruowei was already used to Lin Fan's blockhead attitude, so she got angry quickly and calmed down just as quickly.
After dropping Su Ruowei off at the company, Lin Fan navigated directly to the clinic address given to him by Jiang Beifeng.
The clinic is located on Dongsheng Street in Shancheng City. This street is not in a bustling area and is surrounded by old-fashioned residential buildings, mainly inhabited by retired elderly people.
Following the navigation, Lin Fan arrived at the outside of a two-story Chinese-style building.
Logically, with the residents mainly being elderly, the traditional Chinese medicine clinic should be doing quite well, but in reality, it's very quiet.
The walls of the small building were painted white, and a sign that read "Jishetang" hung at the entrance.
"Jishetang, this is Jiang Beifeng's clinic." Lin Fan parked the car on the side of the road and walked towards the clinic.
As Lin Fan entered the lobby, he saw a young man sitting in the center, seeing patients.
The young man sat in a grand chair, with three patients queuing for treatment across a wooden table in front of him, and three or four apprentices taking notes diligently behind him.
Lin Fan stood on one side of the line, waiting for the young man to finish his consultation before going up to explain the situation.
To pass the time, Lin Fan used his Heavenly Eye to diagnose each of the patients, and then used this to assess the young man's diagnostic abilities.
Although the young man was a bit slow to make a diagnosis, there were no major problems. The prescription had some errors in dosage, but they were not serious.
Time passed slowly, and everyone went through a long and arduous process.
The entire process of observation, auscultation, inquiry, and palpation, including the time for writing the prescription and dispensing the medicine, takes two hours.
"Your turn, come closer," the young man called out to Lin Fan.
Lin Fan smiled, thinking that they were treating him like a patient: "I didn't come here for treatment."
The young man asked in confusion, "If you're not here for medical treatment, then what are you here for?"
Lin Fan shook his head helplessly: "Yesterday, Dean Jiang Beifeng gave me this clinic and specifically told me to come and take a look today."
The young man glanced at Lin Fan with disdain: "Are you sure my grandfather gave the clinic to you?"
Lin Fan smiled: "You must be Jiang Lingfu. Old Jiang mentioned you yesterday."
Jiang Lingfu looked Lin Fan up and down, recalling last night:
Grandpa did mention that a man named Lin Fan would be taking over 'Jishetang' today, and that he would be his master.
When mentioning this grandmaster, Grandpa spared no praise, even calling him a living Hua Tuo (a legendary Chinese physician).
He also said that his master perfected the "Nine Needles Rejuvenation Technique" for him and taught him two long-lost acupuncture techniques.
But Jiang Lingfu knew that traditional Chinese medicine relies on the accumulation of experience, and to become his grandfather's teacher, one had to be around the same age as his grandfather.
No matter how prestigious the family or how skilled the person, they could never be this young!
Therefore, Jiang Lingfu concluded that the person who came was a fraud.
"What's your name?" Jiang Lingfu asked tentatively.
"My name is Lin Fan."
Lin Fan understood that Jiang Lingfu doubted his identity, but he could also understand it. Who would believe that someone who looked to be in his twenties was a master of traditional Chinese medicine?
If Lin Fan were an ordinary person, he wouldn't believe such a thing either.
Normally, for such a big deal as transferring a clinic, Jiang Beifeng would definitely have explained it to his family in advance, but he might not have explained it in detail, and might have just mentioned the name of the person who would take over the clinic.
After all, a transfer agreement has already been signed in black and white, and the agreement speaks for itself.
"Lin Fan? You're probably not a fanatic, are you?!"
Jiang Lingfu scoffed, "Alum disinfects and relieves heat and dryness, but you, a fraud, are the one who's poisonous!"
"Haha, but alum is generally used to treat mouth ulcers, reduce swelling and remove pus."
"I wonder if my Lin Fan can cure cysts in the brain."
Lin Fan finished speaking with a smile and handed over the transfer contract.
