Tomorrow's program is on track.
Gu Xinglan leaned against the door and exhaled a long breath.
The clock on the wall ticked away, and the people inside started to get busy until the trash in the rented room was thrown out.
When Gu Xinglan came out of the bathroom after taking a shower, she was pulling up her long sleeves. The ticking sound in her ears was not from a clock, but from the rain drifting in from outside the balcony.
The weather is getting colder and colder; it might snow earlier this year.
The slide rail creaked.
The rain fell softly, quickly covering the glass doors of the balcony with a thin veil of mist.
With a faint smell of chocolate in the air, Gu Xinglan sat down on the single sofa.
It was raining outside, and with nothing to do, he was thinking of getting the chocolate he hadn't finished yesterday.
Upon opening it, we discovered that a piece was missing.
Yesterday... he ate two pieces?
System: [Host, you didn't eat any yesterday.]
“Yes, the toilet ate the whole thing,” Gu Xinglan said with a smile.
The missing piece was obvious, and Gu Xinglan looked towards the bedroom.
He was just about to tell the other person about going to school tomorrow.
When they entered the room, Gu Xinglan had also boiled a pot of lemon water.
The doorknob wouldn't turn... so the person inside locked the door again.
Gu Xinglan moved with practiced ease, pulling a key from the keychain on her belt. The door opened, but there was no one inside.
There were small, bulging bumps on the bed, like little fluffy balls, round and plump, trembling slightly from time to time. If you looked closely, a tuft of fuzzy hair peeked out from the end of the bump, like the tip of grass peeking out from a snowdrift, except that the grass was black.
It was still early, and Gu Xinglan was more inclined to believe that Li Hetai was in a low mood.
After all, this person always acts like no one can get close to them when they're eating.
Taking two steps at a time, Gu Xinglan strode to the bedside and whispered, "Did you accidentally eat that piece of chocolate? I made you some lemon tea, it's hot."
There was no response.
The blankets would rise and fall with each breath inside.
The blanket had just been pulled back slightly when the person inside yanked it back up forcefully.
Out of the corner of my eye, I could only see that most of the people inside had turned red...
He was drunk.
"If you're drunk, come out with me now. You have important things to do tomorrow, so get up and sober up first."
The chocolate was filled with strong liquor; no wonder this person got drunk after eating just one.
He reached into his pocket and found a piece of candy that someone had slipped into his hand.
As a result, Gu Xinglan felt a sharp pain on the back of her hand and hissed as she quickly pulled her hand back.
Two rows of shallow teeth marks on the tiger's mouth...
Without saying a word, Gu Xinglan directly pulled back the covers.
The blanket almost flew off the bed, and the person on the bed used both hands and feet to frantically grab at it in mid-air, seemingly trying to catch the flying blanket.
As a result, they were robbed halfway there.
The person on the bed was drowsy and could only rely on their sense of smell to make out the location of the blanket.
Until they smelled a few familiar sweet scents, the person on the bed slowly crawled to the edge, and their hand slipped out.
The imagined fall didn't happen; instead, she landed steadily in someone's arms.
After a few movements, the person in the arms came to his senses and in a split second, he was able to clearly see what the person holding him looked like.
Especially the faint scent in the air, like a blend of book pages and woody notes, gives one a sense of inexplicable peace.
"Are you awake?"
Gu Xinglan gritted her teeth and supported the person, her ten white fingers straining.
If he hadn't reacted quickly, this guy would have fallen flat on his face.
But the person in his arms was drowsy, with his eyes half-closed and filled with mist. No matter how he called out to him, the person would only stretch out his hand halfway.
Feeling the gaze directed at her, Gu Xinglan narrowed her eyes: "Li Hetai?"
"5..."
“What does one plus one equal?”
"5..."
"How many brain cells do you have?"
"5."
"Can I, one person, do the work of several cobblers?"
"5."
Five cobblers are 1.5 times better than Zhuge Liang.
I heard a "whoosh" sound from the other person, which seemed to be hiccuping.
When they put the person on the ground, they would still grab his sleeve.
Wherever he went, people followed.
After being fed hot lemon water, Gu Xinglan squatted on the ground and looked up at Li Hetai, who was sitting in the chair as still as a wooden statue.
"Tell me, what happened this evening?"
He thought he would only get an empty reply, but then he saw the other person's fingers twitch slightly.
Gu Xinglan waited patiently.
"I hit that person yesterday." The voice that came out was sticky and greasy, as if covered with a layer of putty.
A child surnamed Liang?
Yesterday, Li Hetai chased after the man and beat him up. No wonder he saw the injury on the man's face this morning.
"Why hit him?"
After waiting for a long time without receiving a reply, Gu Xinglan lowered her eyes and poured the person another cup of hot lemon water.
Li Hetai hit someone, and that person then cried to his biological mother, who then blocked Li Hetai's enrollment in school.
Is this the logic?
Gu Xinglan placed the water glass in the other person's hand and smiled, "I thought it was a big deal."
When drunk, Lai Ho-Thai was in the same state as when he had a fever last time; at least he could communicate normally.
Perhaps this is what the other person is really like.
A thought flashed through her mind, and Gu Xinglan took out the pajamas she had bought last time.
The hooded pajamas have a semi-circular design on the hood, with short black fur that feels incredibly smooth to the touch. Under the light, it shines like a real black bear.
"Li Hetai, change out of your old pajamas and try these on." A smile instantly spread across Gu Xinglan's eyes as she mischievously placed the pajamas in his arms.
The other person actually obediently put on the pajamas.
His expression was still dazed, so Gu Xinglan quickly took out her phone to take a picture of him.
In the footage, the other person was seen sleeping cross-legged on the floor.
In the middle of the night, the rain gradually stopped.
The person wearing bear pajamas suddenly opened their eyes, the whites of their eyes bloodshot.
The warmth emanating from the pajamas spread throughout the body, and the person wearing the pajamas had fragmented thoughts running through their mind.
With a sharp "crack," Li Hetai's face tightened, his teeth clenched, and his face instantly turned bright red. The veins on his neck bulged, and his eyes widened, looking as if they were about to burst.
If anyone saw it, they would think it looked like an enraged beast, exuding a chilling aura.
Gu Xinglan quietly read a book by the bedside.
Just moments before, I was drowsy, like the calm before a storm, but suddenly my body tensed up.
He moved his fingers slightly to close the book, and glanced to the side, where he suddenly met a pair of very deep eyes.
Those two eyes were like arrows poised to be released, just waiting for the archer's command.
"You...you're awake?"
Gu Xinglan placed the book on the bedside table and turned off the nightlight.
In the darkness, Gu Xinglan cleared her throat: "You just ate a chocolate with liqueur filling and you're drunk. I've been waiting for you to wake up, and I've been waiting for you for ages."
It was quiet all around.
Gu Xinglan added, "Class starts at 8:30 tomorrow, so remember that."
"You deliberately."
Suddenly, a gloomy voice rang out from the person next to him.
Intentionally what?
"I just received the news." Gu Xinglan turned over, facing the other person directly in the darkness.
I can't see the other person's face clearly.
Before he could even finish speaking, the man reached out and grabbed his collar.
Now, illuminated by the residual heat of the nightlight, everything was clearly visible: the child's face was filled with anger, and his eyes were red: "You deliberately put the chocolate there! You deliberately made me wear this outfit! You..."
Gu Xinglan frowned slightly and reached out to pinch the other person's incessantly talking mouth, but with a "slap," the other person quickly slapped her away.
