Exclusive Pampered Wife: My Wife Came to My Door

Chapter 112 Visiting the Night Market

Chapter 112 Visiting the Night Market

After leaving home, Chi Moqing kept a close watch on Yan Zuozuo, preventing others from bumping into her. Yan Zuozuo pouted unhappily and tilted her head to look at him, "Don't be so careful, I'm really fine."

“But I just want to walk with you like this.” Chi Moqing smiled, one arm around her waist, the other reaching out to touch her lower abdomen. “The three of you are all my treasures now, I don’t trust any of you.”

"Ugh! You still don't trust your two little sweethearts, do you?" Yan Zuozuo patted her stomach, feigning anger. "Watch out, or I'll mistreat them."

Chi Moqing chuckled, pinched her nose, and said affectionately, "It's because it's you that I care about them."

"Tsk tsk, President Chi is getting better and better at talking." Even though she knew it was sweet talk, she still enjoyed it.

Chi Moqing smiled but remained silent.

Yan Zuozuo was in a good mood, walking and looking around. But Chi Moqing was a little depressed because the Mid-Autumn Festival was approaching, and businesses were using discounts to attract customers, so the evenings had been particularly crowded these past few days, and it wasn't easy to find a restaurant with an empty seat. He looked down and asked Yan Zuozuo, "What do you want to eat?"

Yan Zuozuo's eyes darted around. She'd gotten used to eating too much lately, and since she hadn't eaten much that evening, she was really hungry. She looked around and said slyly, "Come with me." With that, she pulled Chi Moqing forward.

Chi Moqing, worried that someone might bump into her, stayed close to her side. Seeing her impatient manner, he couldn't help but shake his head and chuckle.

Yan Zuozuo led him to sit down at a small stall and said loudly, "Boss, two bowls of rice noodles, please."

Chi Moqing frowned, glancing at the large pot still steaming not far away. Surrounded by a jumble of odds and ends, he couldn't help but ask, "Is this hygienic?" Especially with people coming and going on the street, there's nothing to cover it up.

Yan Zuozuo handed him a pair of chopsticks and said with a smile, "Don't look down on places like this. You're more likely to find good food at these small stalls. You'll see later." After she finished speaking, she couldn't help but swallow.

Before she married Chi Moqing, she would always come here for a bowl of steaming hot rice noodles when she was hungry at night, and then go home and fall asleep immediately. Later, because of Chi Moqing, she rarely came here anymore.

The owner placed the rice noodles in front of the two of them, and Yan Zuozuo eagerly scooped up a mouthful of soup and put it in her mouth. Before she could even enjoy the delicious taste, she was burned and started yelping like a child, sticking out her tongue.

Chi Moqing was both amused and annoyed. He took a bottle of mineral water from the side and gave it to her. "Quickly rinse your mouth. Why are you acting like a child?"

Yan Zuozuo smiled and took a big gulp of water before speaking, "It's been so long since I've had this, of course I miss it."

Helpless, Chi Moqing had no choice but to take another bowl, separate the noodles and soup, and stir the rice noodle soup with a spoon until it was no longer too hot to drink. Then he carefully scooped a spoonful and brought it to her lips, saying, "Drink slowly."

Yan Zuozuo opened her mouth wide and drank it down. It was neither too hot nor too cold, and it still carried the taste from her memory. She couldn't help but let out a satisfied sigh, "So delicious."

Chi Moqing smiled and scooped another spoonful to her lips. Only after Yan Zuozuo finished her bowl of rice noodles did she refuse the spoon Chi Moqing offered her, saying, "I'm full, you eat."

Seeing that she had almost finished eating, Chi Moqing quickly finished his other bowl, paid, and prepared to leave. But Yan Zuozuo kept looking at him with wide, watery eyes, as if expecting him to say it was delicious. To be honest, he didn't really think it was anything special. However, seeing Yan Zuozuo's pitifully expectant eyes, he finally said against his will just before leaving, "It's pretty good."

Sure enough, Yan Zuozuo beamed with joy upon hearing this and took his arm as they walked out.

Chi Moqing was always worried that someone might bump into her, so he kept a close watch on her. The two of them didn't really want to buy anything; they were just enjoying the festive atmosphere and wandering around aimlessly.

Yan Zuozuo really liked this feeling, walking hand in hand and shoulder to shoulder with the man she loved in the crowd, feeling very grounded and happy.

As she walked, she was drawn in by the surrounding aromas. Always a glutton, she couldn't resist the temptations of the nearby stalls and kept clamoring to buy something, but Chi Moqing always refused. She looked at him resentfully, "I'm never going out with you again, you bad person!"

Chi Moqing said with a mix of helplessness and amusement, "Can your body handle this kind of junk food right now? Even without me, you're not allowed to eat it!"

Yan Zuozuo frowned in dissatisfaction, but then her eyes lit up again. She completely forgot about Chi Moqing's lesson and excitedly pointed ahead, saying, "Roasted sweet potato, I want to eat roasted sweet potato." Chi Moqing was about to refuse when he heard Yan Zuozuo threaten, "If you don't buy it for me, I'll go buy it myself."

Chi Moqing sighed and could only resign herself to her fate, saying, "There are too many people over there, you wait for me here."

Yan Zuozuo smiled and agreed, her face flushed and her eyes sparkling like a child waiting for food. She would occasionally tiptoe and glance at Chi Moqing, feeling an indescribable sweetness as she watched him stand handsomely in the line.

"Yan Zuozuo?"

Just as Yan Zuozuo was admiring her husband's dashing appearance, she suddenly heard someone call her name. She turned around uncertainly and happened to meet Mu Yaoqian's ambiguous smile.

She was slightly taken aback, somewhat surprised to meet her here. She remembered that Mu Yaoqian had taken over Mu Tianyang's company and had already returned to her hometown. However, she quickly regained her composure and smiled faintly, "What a coincidence."

Mu Yaoqian raised an eyebrow, staring at her protruding belly, and said sarcastically, "No wonder my dad abandoned me and moved here. He couldn't wait to see his grandson."

Yan Zuozuo frowned. Was this visitor up to no good? She had assumed Mu Yaoqian had accepted Yan's mother, but now it seemed things were completely different. However, out of consideration for Mu Yaoqian being Mu Tianyang's daughter, she remained polite, saying, "Uncle Mu, you are too kind."

Mu Yaoqian smiled coldly, and was about to speak when she heard someone call her name from behind, "Yaoqian".

Upon hearing this, Yan Zuozuo looked over and saw a tall, thin man walking towards her in the distance. He wore glasses, looked very refined, and also seemed somewhat familiar. As he got closer, she realized that it was Cui Guangyuan, the designer who had been used and framed by the design director and his associates.

Cui Guangyuan came running up, panting, carrying a bag of roasted chestnuts. When he saw Yan Zuozuo, an awkward expression flashed across his face, and his smile vanished. He stood there helplessly, saying, "Zuozuo, it's been a long time."

Yan Zuozuo was completely stunned by the scene before her, all sorts of bizarre scenarios flashing through her mind. But in the end, she calmed down and simply smiled faintly, saying, "Long time no see."

Mu Yaoqian twitched her lips but didn't speak. Cui Guangyuan, on the other hand, said like he was showing off a treasure, "Yaoqian, didn't you want to eat roasted chestnuts? I bought some and will peel them for you." As he spoke, he fed the peeled chestnuts to Mu Yaoqian.

Yan Zuozuo looked at the two people in front of her with a faint smile, feeling nothing but curiosity. Mu Yaoqian, on the other hand, stared intently at her, chewing the chestnut in her mouth one bite at a time.

For some reason, Yan Zuozuo felt as if they were gnawing on her bones and eating her flesh, and a chill ran down her spine.

"Zuo Zuo." Chi Moqing finally brought over the roasted sweet potatoes. Yan Zuo Zuo heard the voice, turned around with a happy look on her face, and without caring about her image, eagerly put them into her mouth. After eating so many pregnancy meals, being able to eat roasted sweet potatoes now was simply a delicacy.

Chi Moqing affectionately peeled the sweet potato for her, feeding her piece by piece. His movements were intimate and practiced. After a few bites, Yan Zuozuo seemed to remember Mu Yaoqian and Cui Guangyuan, and quickly introduced them to Chi Moqing. Chi Moqing nodded in greeting and continued feeding Yan Zuozuo the roasted sweet potato.

Mu Yaoqian stared at the way Chi Moqing looked at Yan Zuozuo, her hands clenching tighter at her sides. However, she still smiled, "President Chi is so good to Zuozuo."

Chi Moqing nodded but smiled without saying anything. He took a tissue and wiped Yan Zuozuo's mouth, reminding her, "Eat slowly, it's hot."

Yan Zuozuo ate with great relish, praising the sweet potato as she ate, "It's been so long since I've had such delicious roasted sweet potatoes that are so juicy and shiny. They're really good."

Chi Moqing looked at her with doting eyes and fed her piece by piece, "Where do you want to go later?"

Yan Zuozuo pointed ahead, her words slightly mumbled: "Let's find a park to sit in, I'm a little tired."

Chi Moqing nodded, then turned to Mu Yaoqian and Cui Guangyuan and said, "Then we'll go first." After saying that, he didn't even look at them again, and walked forward with his arm around Yan Zuozuo's waist.

Mu Yaoqian stared intently at Yan Zuozuo's back, a flash of resentment in her eyes, her fists clenched tightly as if she were trying her best to suppress the surging emotions within her.

Seeing her like this, Cui Guangyuan put the peeled chestnuts to her mouth again and whispered, "Eat chestnuts, I bought a lot."

Mu Yaoqian didn't come to her senses until she could no longer see Yan Zuozuo. She pushed away Cui Guangyuan's outstretched arm, turned around and left with a cold face.

Cui Guangyuan stared at Mu Yaoqian's departing figure, a hint of disappointment flashing across his face, but he quickly chased after her. He spoke to Mu Yaoqian in a humble manner, but Mu Yaoqian remained silent, her face cold and her lips pursed.

In the park, Yan Zuozuo sat on a bench, Chi Moqing's arms around her. A gentle breeze brushed against their faces, and the speedboats on the river not far away made a soft humming sound. Men and women passed by them from time to time, and the laughter and playful shouts of children filled the air. Yan Zuozuo closed her eyes contentedly, rested her head on Chi Moqing's shoulder, and sighed softly, "This is so nice."

Chi Moqing chuckled softly: "What's so good?"

“Everything is good. It’s good that you’re by my side, it’s good that we have a baby, it’s good that I have a family who loves me, and it’s good that we have this peaceful and comfortable life now.” She looked up at Chi Moqing with a smile on her lips. “I’ve discovered that since I married you, I have so many good things. Everything is wonderful.”

Chi Moqing smiled and kissed her hair. "I think it's great too. With you, the baby, and our family, everything is wonderful."

Yan Zuozuo expressed strong agreement.

The two sat in the park for a while until she got sleepy, and then they headed home.

Considering Yan Zuozuo's current condition, even though it was only a ten-minute walk, Chi Moqing still took a taxi. Fortunately, he did, and Yan Zuozuo fell asleep on the way home. Chi Moqing adjusted her to a comfortable position and took off his coat to cover her.

The driver saw this and couldn't help but smile. It's rare to see young people with such a good relationship these days. So he teased, "Young man, you really know how to cherish your wife."

"A wife is meant to be cherished." Chi Moqing brushed the stray hairs stuck to Yan Zuozuo's face behind her ear and said with a faint smile. He looked down at Yan Zuozuo with exceptional tenderness in his eyes.

The driver smiled and nodded, glancing at Chi Moqing in the rearview mirror. He felt Chi Moqing looked familiar, but couldn't quite place him. Puzzled, he asked, "Have we met somewhere before?"

Chi Moqing smiled but remained silent.

The car quickly stopped in front of the villa. He carefully helped Yan Zuozuo out, paid the fare, and was about to leave when he heard the driver exclaim, "Ah, I remember now, you're the one on TV... they said you were the CEO..."

Because the driver's voice was a bit loud, Chi Moqing was worried that Yan Zuozuo would be woken up. He glanced at her to make sure she was still asleep before smiling at the driver and saying, "Thank you for bringing us back. Be careful on the road."
