Chapter 175 Blasphemy
Chapter 175 Blasphemy
Lorraine felt like he'd been tricked, but there was nothing he could do about it.
At this moment, he felt his own weakness... The necromancer could only feign innocence and await the judgment of the powerful...
The entire Arena of Will is now quiet. When important figures appear, ordinary people consciously shut up.
Aside from Lady Vereesa, Jaina, and the blue dragon mage Kalecgos, the orbs of light surrounding Millhouse and Lorraine flickered almost continuously. People began to teleport to the Arena of Will, with Jaina and Kalecgos being the first to arrive, followed by Vereesa, and then others returning.
This seems to be a pre-arranged gathering...
Millhouse & Manastorm were probably already in the Arena of Will beforehand, but initially no one noticed the dwarf mage's presence.
When chaos erupted, Milhouse intervened to quell the riots and intimidate the envoys from all sides.
Inside the Arena of Will, several factions were quietly waiting for the Kirin Tor members to gather in the center. They were guests, after all; the Kirin Tor were the hosts of Dalaran... It was rather embarrassing for the guests to be caught causing trouble in their hosts' home.
No one was happy; they didn't know what the higher-ups in Dalaran were planning...
It wouldn't be entirely accurate to say no one was happy; the two Violet Enforcers who had been struggling to maintain order were actually quite pleased. The irritable Babagarno and Archmage Vanshigudbinger finally breathed a sigh of relief...
The appearance of high-ranking officials brought order to the scene.
The emissaries of Stormwind, the cultists of Light, the bishops of Light, the Blood Knights, the Syndicate, and the Scarlet Crusade finally quieted down. Even the commoners and merchants who had been placing bets and watching the spectacle fell silent.
"Everyone! It's great that you're all here, so I don't need to call you all to the square..."
Before long, the ball of light in the center of the arena gradually dissipated, and several important figures finally appeared... The first to speak was an elderly human with white hair... He wore a simple gray hooded linen robe, which did not look particularly refined, but he was none other than the famous current human [Guardian] Master Khadgar!
Khadgar is not actually as old as he looks. His full head of white hair and wrinkled face are the result of being struck by fel magic during his battle with Medivh, which drained Medivh's life force.
In reality, he was in his prime, yet he was already a true grand mage, and a polymath proficient in all three magic systems.
His appearance signifies the emergence of a true decision-maker in Dalaran.
.......
Behind Khadgar was a young female mage who also looked very young, but she was actually the extremely old Master Mordra... and one of the current chairmen of the Kirin Tor.
Following Master Mordra was Ansrem Ruinvivor, who looked quite old. This archmage was the leader of the human faction and a representative of the hardliners among humans. Although he didn't claim to be a member of the Silver Covenant, he was practically the spokesperson for the Silver Covenant faction.
Finally, a tall elven mage appeared, Aethas & the Sunreaver... He stood alone to one side, subtly protecting Mordra.
Now all the Kirin Tor bigwigs who remained in Dalaran are here...
Khadgar, Mordra, Aethas, and Ansrem, the four leaders, were gathered together. Meanwhile, Lady Vereesa, Jaina, and her invited guest, the blue dragon mage Kalecgos... A blue-haired man with an elven appearance stepped forward to greet them...
Milhouse, however, remained with Lorraine, whether to monitor him or protect him, it's unclear...
Just as Khadgar was about to announce something, a clueless person stepped out from the previous delegation and loudly asked:
"Master Khadgar, you've finally appeared. We've expressed doubts about the magical illusions you've been playing on a loop in the reception hall, and now we're arguing fiercely over this so-called Naaru. We need an explanation from Dalaran. Otherwise, Dalaran will be an enemy of the Holy Light! And an enemy of our Scarlet Crusade!"
The one who was oblivious was a Crimson Knight, one of Tyrande's subordinates...
The Scarlet Crusade had been suffering repeated setbacks, and they couldn't take it anymore.
First, they jumped out and started an attack...
"Forgive our rudeness, Master. But I truly cannot believe that the message you gave us is the truth about the Holy Light!"
Tyran & Fordring stepped forward to defend his subordinate, who had spoken harshly. He offered a perfunctory apology, but in reality, it was a statement of stance. This was the art of leadership that his mentor, High Inquisitor Ethan Lien, had taught him...
......
“I am showing you the facts, no further explanation is needed. The truth is as it is. I have had long-term contact with Lord Adal, and the Holy Light itself is the radiance emanating from the Naaru. They are a just and benevolent race, so the mercy of the Holy Light transcends the universe, illuminating all darkness.”
Khadgar had anticipated the reaction of these followers of the Holy Light, and he hadn't originally intended to explain anything... he wasn't a priest himself.
The radiance of the Naaru is the source of holy light; if there is a god, it is the Naaru themselves, beings of holy light. They are a higher form of energy beings. They do not possess the emotions of mortal life, but they are born with the ability to ignite all positively related energies of life, order, and faith. They can guide life toward light, warmth, unity, and love.
Therefore, these positive-energy beings are inherently beneficial to humanity; they are like benevolent extraterrestrials, existing at a higher level...
Indeed, it can serve as a representative of the faith in Holy Light...
At least for now, Khadgar's understanding of the Naaru is that they are the source of divine light.
The Draenei's spaceships are controlled and built by the Naaru; they themselves are the power source of these ships. If the Naaru seek anything from their followers, it is merely the unwavering belief in upholding justice to the very end that nourishes them... the light of faith from the depths of their souls can nourish the Naaru...
The Naaru gravitate towards those who embody justice and light. They repel the Void... If they lose their Holy Light energy and their energy is depleted, the Naaru may transform into Dark Naaru, corrupted by the Void, and become Void creatures...
The secrets behind this still need to be studied, and it would be a very large and complex task to explain them clearly to these ordinary people.
Khadgar was eager to announce something important, so he couldn't help but mention it briefly.
To his surprise, his explanation did not appease the guests. As soon as he finished speaking, someone shouted even more angrily: Heretic!
"Heretics, sorcerers! Blasphemers! Khadgar, you apprentice corrupted by darkness, master-slayer! You gathered everyone here just to spread your twisted doctrines. You surely harbor demons within you, just like your traitorous teacher Medivh! You are unworthy of the name of guardians of humanity. The people of Dalaran are all heretics; no wonder the blue dragons want to destroy you. You deserve to die!"
"Who! Who's talking nonsense? State your name! How can you be so vicious and rude? Do you really think Dalaran is easy to bully?"
