Chapter 169 Blood Knight
Chapter 169 Blood Knight
Blood Elf mages form their own faction in Dalaran, backed by Silvermoon City, but they have their own pride.
The Blood Knights of Silvermoon City belong to Countess Liadrin. Liadrin was originally a priestess who believed in the Holy Light... however, when Arthas, the Death Knight, led the Scourge to invade and breach Silvermoon City, the Holy Light did not save these elven followers...
Their power seemed weak and insignificant; the faith in the Holy Light failed to save the Quel'Sara elven empire.
The Countess abandoned the Holy Light, and the knights and priests of Silvermoon City, in their quest for revenge, called themselves Blood Knights. Recent news of the Naaru, creatures of the Holy Light, further confirms that the so-called Holy Light is actually just a form of energy.
Prince Kael'thas of the Blood Elves has reached an agreement with his former teacher, Archmage Romance of the Blood Elves, that they will capture a so-called Naaru in Tempest Keep in Outland to use as a power bank!
May the people of Silvermoon City be freed from their demonic addiction and regain their source of power.
Of course, this news was known only to a few people, and it was kept secret within the Blood Knights' ranks. Whether the Sunreavers' leader, Archmage Aethas, and the Sunreavers knew about it or not was irrelevant.
The Sunreavers are outwardly independent of Silvermoon City or the Horde, but they insist that they are part of Dalaran.
The seat that the prince voluntarily relinquished was inherited by Aethas. Aethas himself preferred to keep himself and his followers out of all conflict rather than try to save the elven empire from its past glory.
He sought a balance, or peace.
The Sunreavers' initial motivation for helping Silvermoon City and Dalaran rebuild was to ease tensions between elves and humans and mend the rifts that existed in the past... Whether the Sunreavers were sent back to Dalaran by Silvermoon City or whether these blood elf mages left voluntarily... remains to be seen...
The Silver Covenant and the Sunreavers of Dalaran appear to be irreconcilable enemies, but in reality, it's all a staged performance by high elf mages who are loyal to Dalaran... They no longer belong to Silvermoon City; they belong to Dalaran.
This might be what they call politics... perhaps it's about protecting the poor yet proud blood elf bloodline.
Neither the Alliance nor the Horde should be offended.
This is a method Dalaran has devised after enduring countless hardships... They are under immense pressure, with dragons and demons lurking in the shadows. Dalaran needs to unite all forces to fight against this powerful foe and maintain order.
Just like the original duties of the Council of Tirisfal... perhaps some have forgotten that powerful and ancient organization.
Aethas & the Sunreaver and Mordra are the only remaining members of the Council of Tirisfal... Upon hearing the new news of the legendary Guardians, they already knew what to do next...
However, all of those were done in secret.
In contrast, the Silver Covenant is more direct, always presenting themselves as orthodox and righteous. Aethas & the Sunreaver also disliked Lady Vereesa & the Windrunner's volatile temper; he couldn't tolerate the obsession of that seemingly mad woman...
Perhaps it was witnessing too many of her compatriots die tragically in the Yongge Forest... or perhaps it was the disappearance of her eldest sister and the death of her second sister that brought her endless sorrow!
Perhaps it was because her second sister, Sylvanas, was resurrected as an undead and led the Forsaken against the Alliance that caused Vereesa, the youngest of the three high elf Windrunner sisters and the 'Lady of Dalaran', to feel immense pain and resentment.
The entire Silver Covenant harbors utter disgust and hatred towards the Horde...
The arrival of the Blood Knights of Silvermoon was not opposed by the original High Elf Ranger Force within the Silver Covenant... but the Blood Knights and the Sunreavers' clear bias towards the Horde put them at odds.
Blood Knights themselves do not believe in the Holy Light, yet they have received its infusion.
This is because: [Archmage Astaroth the Bloodsworn of Silvermoon City conducted a dangerous experiment on Countess Liadrin: an experiment infusing Holy Light energy. Astaroth the Bloodsworn extracted pure Holy Light energy from the Naaru captured by the prince in Outland, using arcane corruption to transform it into something resembling arcane energy...]
After Liadrin absorbed this arcane holy light energy using her own body as a vessel, she successfully wielded the power of holy light like a paladin, aided by incantations and magical runes.
Therefore, the Blood Knight not only knew the secrets of the Holy Light, but he also conducted Lightforging experiments.
Of course, it's hard to say who's guiding these lightcasting experiments. The Naru beings possess their own intelligence, but they are not ordinary beings; they lack the emotions and logic of humans or ordinary life forms...
Blood Knights are the direct forces of the King of Silvermoon City, fighting for the glory of the High Elves...
The Blood Knights' mission to Dalaran was at the invitation of the Sunreavers. Master Khadgar, the current Guardian of Humanity, also subtly warned Silvermoon City that their prince was embarking on a path of no return, much like the High Elves of yesteryear, always teetering on the brink of self-destruction...
"Dalaran has undead!"
"Damn it, this sacred place has been corrupted... The undead are attacking, Dalaran isn't safe anymore. We have no choice but to go to Stormwind..."
"I am a citizen of Lordaeron, and I would rather die than go south."
"Come on, Lordaeron is dead... We are free men. Mages are not bound by any rules!"
.......
"You lowly commoner, of course you don't want to rebuild Lordaeron..."
"Damn it, what do you mean? You fallen nobleman, do you want to try my fireball technique? I'm going to roast you like a pig."
"Come on...who's afraid of who? Traitor..."
.......
Lorraine's [Possessed by a Wraith] wasn't primarily an offensive effect this time; it merely triggered Taylor's transformation into a zombie... He was no longer human. Although he didn't want to admit it, it was only through Lady Aegwynn's body reconstruction that they were able to establish themselves in Undercity...
Even after becoming an undead, Taylor was determined to return to Dalaran, report Lorraine and Eileen to the Violet Eye... and even his new teacher, Lady Aegwynn, the new guardian of the Forsaken, saved him...
Eileen, however, willingly submitted and joined the pursuit of magical power, wholeheartedly cooperating with her new senior brother Lorraine... She also shouted, "Oh no, Taylor has been infected! He's lying! Don't believe anyone!"
The Silver Covenant human mages and enforcers around him exchanged bewildered glances; they wanted to save Taylor, but it was impossible...
Taylor was surrounded by the Blood Knights; their scorching holy light had already sealed his fate...
Chaos erupted at the scene; all the battles within the Arena of Willpower were forced to halt, and even the goblins were compelled to come out and maintain order. For some unknown reason, chaos suddenly descended both inside and outside the Arena of Willpower...
The Dalaran dwarf mage, Barbagarno, who had been calming down the group of dangerous individuals, suddenly roared, "What are you doing? Who's challenging the dignity of Dalaran!"
