Chapter 181 Runeterra - Pantheon Isn't Coming
Several hours had passed by the time Atreus woke up.
Judging from his appearance, he must have hadn't slept well for a long time; he slept soundly during his several hours of unconsciousness.
It's not certain if I woke up; I was probably woken up by the aroma.
There's not much delicious food in the desert, but at least you won't go hungry.
Kratos didn't care; he could eat anything when he was a wanderer, but Thor refused.
However, the smell did wake Atreus up.
He rubbed his stomach as he asked, "Who are you people?"
Thor handed him the skewers and explained, "I just wanted to find a worthy opponent. After all, you're the one who defeated Aatrox. I wanted to see how tough you really are."
Atreus ate the grilled, unidentified creature that Thor handed him, all in silence.
"When I first heard you say we were going to the top of the mountain?" Atreus asked after finishing his food.
The three, who were about to get up, paused, exchanged a glance, and then Dio spoke up: "Yes, let's go see what the Protoss look like."
Atreus looked at Dio's smiling face and sighed, "It's better not to go. After the Protoss of War left, everyone who wanted to go up the mountain will be burned to death. They say it's because the Goddess of Dawn is angry, but I know it's because Pantheon is angry. He ordered all the Protoss watching this place to stop people from going up the mountain."
"I live on the mountainside to prevent pilgrims from wasting their lives, because I know why they do it!"
"They're targeting me!"
The three listened to him silently without responding.
Seeing the three of them looking completely calm, Atreus paused, frowned, and asked, "Aren't you curious?"
The three of them shook their heads at the same time.
Seeing Atreus's bewildered expression, Dio explained, "It's just driving out Pantheon's will, isn't it? What's the big deal?"
"You don't know, do you? Those guys who call themselves Protoss are actually just a bunch of thieves. They forcibly seized the master's power through conspiracy, and now the master is about to break free of their restraints."
"In short, they are all in dire straits now."
Dio's words shocked Atreus. The noble Protoss actually had this identity?
And what does it mean that they can't even protect themselves?
Can a celestial being, a being as powerful as a god, die?
Atreus is right, Aurelion Sol, the Star Forger, is going to kill all the Protoss who deceived him!
Of course, only the Twilight Protoss, whom Aatrox hates the most, are still alive.
This involves a long story.
"So, what do you think of this story?" Dio's words brought Atreus back to his senses.
He looked up, his eyes filled with complex emotions as he gazed at the thick clouds.
His eyes seemed to pierce through the clouds to spot the celestial spirits atop the mountain.
“We appreciate your kindness, but we’d be reluctant to leave without going.” Dio dusted off non-existent dust and led the two toward the summit of Mount Targon.
Atreus shook his head. Good advice is useless against that damned fool. Anyway, the stakes were clear. The three of them were indeed powerful, but they probably wouldn't have an advantage against a complete Protoss.
With a sigh, Atreus re-stood up the tent.
The summit of Mount Targon.
Countless high-temperature flames instantly ignited, capable of instantly vaporizing iron and stone and reaching the human body at high temperatures, but they were completely ineffective against Dio and his two companions.
They crossed the blockade line with ease.
Perhaps due to the Protoss's arrogance, apart from the fireball blockade, there was nothing to stop them from behind.
In the clouds, a female warrior clad in golden armor and wielding a golden sword and shield, blankly lowered her sword, turned, and vanished.
The three of them successfully reached the mountaintop. Contrary to what Atreus had said, there were no traps or even a single person in sight.
"I thought there was going to be a fierce battle," Kratos remarked, gazing at the beautiful scenery above the clouds.
“Indeed.” Thor nodded in disappointment.
Dio surveyed his surroundings and just sensed someone watching him. He looked in that direction but found nothing. The person seemed to have realized his intentions and hid instantly.
Dio searched the area around the summit of Mount Targon, but found no one in any direction, whether in the sky or on the ground.
However, I just saw a woman who looked like Leona, the Goddess of Dawn, but she disappeared in the blink of an eye, just like Zoe's teleportation.
He was just hoping the Protoss would surprise him, but instead he was disappointed.
He sighed. He had thought there would be a big battle, and he wanted to know how strong the Protoss were. But unfortunately, the Protoss didn't give him any face!
"Let's go. If these Protoss aren't cooperating, we'll find another one. I remember Zoe, the Twilight Protoss, is quite active. We'll talk about it when we have time to find her."
Thor shook Mjolnir in his hand with regret.
Somewhat disappointed, Dio and Thor flew directly towards Demacia.
He wanted to see first whether the so-called runestone could actually bring him system rewards.
After the three left, Leona appeared out of thin air.
She looked up at the starry sky, her eyes reflecting a dazzling golden light like the sun. Clearly, Leona at this moment was not the girl from the Church of Dawn, but a celestial spirit of Dawn directly possessing her!
The Aurora Protoss asked, "Why don't we all attack together?"
A stern male voice echoed from the sky: "Fool, if I could win, would I not fight?"
Such a straightforward question left the Dawn Protoss stunned for a moment before she continued, "Shall we continue?"
"Continue my ass! Get out of here!"
It's obvious that the opponent is Pantheon.
The Aurora nodded, sent Leona back, and then immediately left its body and returned to its original form.
Pan Sen, on the other hand, was still somewhat shaken.
He clearly sensed something amiss from the three men who had reached the summit of Mount Targon.
The man in the lead looked like he could kill him in an instant!
This is no illusion. You see, it was this inexplicable feeling that helped me dodge the Dragon King's indiscriminate attacks when he was angry and trying to break free of his crown.
This feeling saved his life countless times, causing his physical form in the universe to stop and hide.
Luckily, I dodged quickly. That rapid and fleeting sense of probing was definitely done by that man!
Patting his chest, Pantheon thought it was nice to have someone occasionally spread his fame. As for Atreus, well…
The opponent was able to turn the tide in that situation, not only by relying on his tenacious will to survive again, but also by finally igniting the remaining power within himself.
Not only did he defeat Aatrox, but the opponent's indomitable spirit was also a major highlight.
As Pantheon flew back, he kept reassuring himself.
It's not because we can't beat them that we're not going to that planet!
