Chapter 143 DC - Alliance Established

Chapter 143 DC - Alliance Established

“We intend to invite you to join our alliance,” Clark said.

Bruce Wayne's face twitched. "Like in the comics?" he said.

Clark knew Bruce understood what he meant, but he still explained anyway.

"Like the Justice League, but we are not responsible for fighting criminals; our main focus is on crises targeting Earth in space."

“And what about the criminals?” Bruce Wayne asked.

Clark and his two companions knew what Bruce meant. This time, it was Diana who spoke up: "We will find out the cause and effect of their crimes, and if they are not inherently bad people, we will absorb them into the League."

"After all, it's really impossible for just the few of us to do what's depicted in comics."

Bruce Wayne narrowed his eyes, as if he were thinking.

The three of them watched him in silence.

“Young master, are you going to let your friends stand at the door all afternoon?” Alfred’s voice rang out at that moment.

Everyone looked behind the door and saw that Alfred had prepared several servings of black tea and snacks and was looking at them.

"Welcome everyone. I apologize for keeping you waiting. After all, we haven't had many guests over the years." Alfred welcomed everyone in, and although he was very respectful, his glances and words towards Bruce Wayne from time to time were full of sarcasm towards his young master.

Bruce Wayne covered his forehead and leaned back casually on the sofa.

The others watched this scene with smiles on their faces.

Alfred skillfully placed the tea and snacks down and left the living room.

"So, this is all your plan is?" Bruce Wayne asked.

“What?” Barry Allen asked.

Bruce Wayne took a deep breath: "Is this all you care about? What about the people who get hurt because of these criminals? Yes, I'm sure a lot of people commit crimes accidentally at first, but are all the people who get hurt because of them just suffering for nothing?"

"Don't they deserve to be locked up in jail? And yet they're recruited into the League..." Bruce Wayne laughed as he said this.

"Your naiveté amuses me."

“So…” Diana said, “we’ve come to find you.”

"what?"

“Batman has a solution for every crisis, and he also has a solution for every member of the League, and it’s the most effective one!” Diana said with a smile.

With each word she spoke, Bruce Wayne's face darkened further.

Although this response is a preparation for possible unforeseen circumstances, can a secret that is directly revealed still be called a secret?

Fortunately, these non-human beings appeared before him when he was unprepared. If they had appeared before him when he was ready, he was sure he could have shot them!

"Don't worry, Bruce, we respect your secret, and you can keep it anywhere you want. As long as we are determined to be a danger to the Earth and humanity, you can attack us at will."

Clark spoke from the heart, and Bruce Wayne noticed that the other two did not change their expressions after Clark said this, so he knew that the three of them had come for a purpose today.

And it was something we discussed in advance!

Bruce Wayne pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling somewhat helpless.

After reading the comics and visiting the Marvel universe, he knew that the people and events in the comics could very well happen, and that the story might even be unfolding quietly in some corner of the universe that they were unaware of.

Seeing all this, Bruce Wayne was already feeling utterly exhausted, and he even lacked the energy to go out and fight the criminals in Gotham.

"What's wrong? Even Batman can feel mentally exhausted?" Diana teased.

Diana Prince, who had lived for countless years, had already seen through Bruce Wayne's condition and came forward to comfort him.

“We also read the comics and had Clark find Dio. We asked around and found out that there wasn’t actually that much of a crisis or any so-called ‘villain’.”

Diana lived a long life and was blessed by several gods, making her inherently very approachable.

Her words were very effective.

But for Bruce, that's all.

"And what about Darkseid?" Bruce Wayne asked, his expression unchanged.

This question silenced everyone.

“That’s why we came to find you.” After a long pause, Clark finally spoke: “Every universe has an avatar of Darkseid, and our universe has one too. He will be our greatest enemy!”

"The reason we're seeking your help to form an alliance is to defend against Darkseid."

Bruce Wayne took a deep breath and gathered his thoughts.

He was just a mortal, and to be honest, he didn't have that much power to resist Darkseid's invasion, but... isn't it through challenging the impossible that humanity has survived?

Bruce Wayne recalled a scene in the comics where Batman battled Superman. If his counterparts in other universes could do it, why couldn't his counterparts in this universe do it?

They're both Batman, both Bruce Wayne.

Bruce opened his eyes and looked at the three of them: "I can join you, but in addition to the conditions from before, I have some other requirements."

"What is it?"

"I need a suit of armor, a suit of armor that can withstand Darkseid!"

"This..." The three looked at each other in bewilderment.

This armor does exist, but it's a super armor from the comics that represents the collective effort of everyone in the Justice League. In the comics, Batman did indeed beat Darkseid up.

But that was obviously just a gimmick created by the writers to sell cool character merchandise. If they really had that kind of armor, would they have given it to Batman?

She put it on herself a long time ago!

Seeing the troubled expressions on the faces of the three men, Bruce Wayne suddenly burst out laughing.

The three men immediately realized Bruce was teasing them when they saw his smile!

“Let’s choose this place as the initial location for the alliance. There’s a conference room near my house that the Wayne family brought from England,” Bruce Wayne suggested.

Barry Allen raised his hand: "Then can we build an outer space fortress like in the comics?"

Bruce sighed and said, "I'd like to, but we don't have the technical support, so..."

Barry Allen said "Oh," indicating that he understood.

Although they knew that Cyborg Victor would help them and become an indispensable part of the League, they were not too keen on having Cyborg join.

Because he was just an ordinary college student, and if it weren't for the car accident, the "steel skeleton" wouldn't have been created.

If he were born, he would have to endure unimaginable pain to transform.

From an Earthling's perspective, Bruce Wayne did not want Cyborg to be born.

This is equivalent to someone wishing you a happy life in the Warhammer world.

That's too much to ask of people.
