Chapter 140 DC—Clark's Misunderstanding
Chapter 140 DC—Clark's Misunderstanding
When everyone was back on the sofa, they saw Clark fly back carrying a dashing woman.
"This is Diana," Clark introduced briefly.
Barry stared wide-eyed; he had never seen such a beautiful woman before.
"So, what exactly happened?" Diana Prince, Wonder Woman, didn't follow up on Clark's explanation after landing and asked directly.
"what?"
Bruce Wayne looked puzzled. What was going on? He knew nothing about it.
At this moment, Clark spoke up: "I'm sorry for gathering everyone together without explanation, and I'm also sorry for coming to Bruce's house. I did this so that everyone can help me resist General Zod."
“General Zod? Then you must be the culprit who broke my TV.” Bruce Wayne was somewhat annoyed that a stranger he had just met called him by his first name.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Wayne, General Zod was indeed looking for me, but his trip to Earth wasn’t just a simple search,” Clark apologized and then explained.
Under Diana's surprised gaze, Clark recounted some things about General Zod, and Dio casually gave Diana a copy of the comic book as well.
Clark quickly finished explaining the situation.
After reading the comic, Diana crossed her arms and said, "This is a calamity on Earth, and we have no choice but to go."
“Since our goal now is to stop General Zod from colonizing planets, do we have a specific plan?” Barry Allen asked.
"Although we have Batman, we don't have Kryptonite, so only Wonder Woman can hurt them."
Barry Allen's words silenced Bruce Wayne, who was about to speak.
Tell the truth.
“I don’t want to hurt anyone, whether it’s you or them. I’m asking you for your help. If General Zod and his men start their plan, then stop them!” Clark said after a moment of silence.
After all, there are a large number of Kryptonians, and their strength is not something an ordinary person can handle. But everyone present is no ordinary person.
Batman, who never loses a fight; Flash, who sacrifices himself in dire straits; and Wonder Woman, who is beautiful, kind-hearted, and can even open her skull with her bare hands.
Shazam is very powerful, but his original form hasn't gained any abilities yet; he's still an orphan.
As for Aquaman Arthur, Clarke didn't find him immediately; he may have gone to the deep sea.
"What brilliant idea do you have?" Bruce Wayne asked Dio, who was watching the show from the sidelines.
Everyone looked at him.
"By the way, who are you...?" Diana looked at Dio, also curious about who he was.
Clark introduced Dio's identity, and Diana expressed her surprise, as it was the first time she had ever seen a comic book character appear in real life.
“Hello, Mr. Dio, could you please help us fight against General Zod and his men?” Diana stepped forward to shake hands with Dio.
Dio did not reach out, but kept his hands behind his back and said, "You seem to have misunderstood something."
Dio's words made everyone frown.
“I didn’t say I was going to help you, Clark,” Dio said, looking at Clark.
"I'm giving you the comic to give you a very simple understanding of what kind of situation you'll encounter next, which is equivalent to revealing the attributes and strategies for defeating the game boss."
"General Zod's desires are simple: first, the Codex within you, and second, the restoration of Krypton's former glory."
As Dio spoke, he paced back and forth: "Now that you understand the needs, what should you do?"
"Just like in the comics, kill them until only Zod is left, then throw him into the Phantom Zone to fend for himself?"
Dio's words made everyone think.
Barry Allen then said, "You mean we don't need to fight?"
Dio looked at Barry Allen, who shrank back, somewhat afraid of Dio.
"Theoretically speaking, you don't need to fight."
Dio's words made Clark shake his head in denial: "Although I know that comics and reality are different, you also said that Zod wants to restore Krypton. Earth is just around the corner, so he doesn't need to wander to other places."
Dio shook his head.
"Kryptonians have a flaw: they are born with genetic editing that determines what kind of person they will become. Even Zod is the same. He was a born general, but he has one drawback: all he knows is how to fight."
"His thinking is very simple: conquer Earth, develop it into a new Krypton, then expand the population to recreate Krypton's past glory of dominating the universe!"
"But he was being too simplistic; he still thought the universe was the same as it was tens of thousands of years ago."
"Moreover, you need to know what you have now: the Codex of Life and a complete Kryptonian fetal incubation chamber. These are all things you can use to your advantage. As long as you don't drive him to desperation, you can utilize everything you have."
Clark pondered, considering the possibility of success.
"You should know that the nearest suitable planet is actually within the solar system. With the technology Zod has, it is not difficult to transform it into a habitable planet."
"Most importantly, the Kryptonian population is so small now that it can't withstand any more turmoil. Let Zod think it over carefully; a lose-lose situation is bad for everyone."
Clark's brow gradually relaxed; he sensed feasibility in Dio's words.
“If we can solve this with words, then what’s the point of having us?” Barry Allen suddenly said.
Yeah, if something can be solved with words, why bother gathering them together?
Everyone looked at Dio.
Dio, on the other hand, looked completely bewildered.
"Why are you looking at me? Did I gather you all here?"
Then everyone looked at Clark.
Clark was a little embarrassed. After reading the comics, he wanted to assemble his team and fight against General Zod and his group.
He didn't think about anything else at the time; he simply believed that once he got the team on board, the problem would be solved smoothly.
But unexpectedly, this wasn't necessary!
"Then... I'm leaving?" Clark pointed to himself and looked at everyone.
The rest of the people all turned to look at him.
Knowing he was in the wrong, Clark flew away without saying a word.
Diana looked at the remaining three and said, "Then I'll be going now. You can come find me if you need anything."
He then handed a business card to each of the three men, including Dio.
Dio took it and saw that it was inscribed with the words "Artifact Restoration Expert" and "Greek History Professor".
Bruce Wayne quietly put it away, while Barry Allen happily tucked it into his pocket.
"Everything's settled, so I'm leaving now." Dio also left directly, heading out of the manor.
Barry Allen was at a loss for what to do, his body stiffening on the spot, while he secretly glanced at Bruce Wayne, the Batman.
But as soon as he turned his eyes, he realized that the other person was also looking at him.
As their eyes met, Barry Allen was startled and ran away in a flash.
“It seems you have a new friend, young master.” Alfred noticed the word Batman on the comic book.
Bruce Wayne stared silently at the charred marks on the wooden floor.
