Chapter 108 Valhalla—Eivor's Choice (2.5k)
“Come, take a closer look at her true nature, and see clearly who she really is!” Dio pointed at Eivor, who was panting heavily.
Odin channeled his divine power and looked directly into Eivor's eyes.
As if looking directly into her soul, Odin discovered her true nature!
It was a male figure who bore a seventy percent resemblance to Eivor before him, wearing a dark blue robe with runes embroidered on the edges.
He is one-eyed, holding a long spear, with two crows perched on his shoulders.
“Odin!” Odin exclaimed in surprise.
“Yes, she is Odin, but she is the Odin of this world!” Dio nodded.
Odin fell into deep thought, and Dio, seeing this, released them from their restraints.
Eivor collapsed to the ground after landing, and only a few people mustered the courage to come to Dio and Odin to check on Eivor's condition. The others looked at Odin and Dio with some unease.
"Is this the technology of those Isu people you mentioned?" Odin asked Dio after a moment's thought.
Dio nodded and led the way toward the opposite hilltop.
As they walked, he said, "The Isu people were ancient humans from the distant past of this world, but they were very different from modern humans."
"Anatomically speaking, the Isu people are actually very similar to humans, and they also have similarities in genes, but they have an extra sense, which they call 'knowledge'."
"The difference between the Ishu people and ordinary humans is simple: they are generally taller than humans, about 20 inches taller, or about 50 centimeters taller."
"Although the Isu people are generally long-lived, they are not immortal. They are also human beings on Earth, but they possess extraordinary technology, which makes them appear more like gods."
"In ancient times, it was indeed the Isu people who created the ancestors of modern humans, Homo sapiens and Neanderthals."
Dio and Odin stopped in the middle of the river and looked at the people of the Black Raven Clan.
Dio didn't lower his voice intentionally; everyone heard him clearly.
"During an ancient catastrophe, the Isu people were almost wiped out. Odin, the leader of the Isu people in Norse mythology, ordered the construction of a supercomputer called the World Tree in advance, and had his members load their memories and genes into it before facing death."
"They agreed to recognize each other in their next life and rebuild Asgard."
Dio then pulled Eivor in front of him and said to Odin, "Many characters from Norse mythology have begun to influence reincarnations in this life, including Eivor."
Dio paused after speaking.
"What's wrong? Did they all fail?" Odin asked.
He was still very curious about this alternate version of himself.
Dio shook his head: "Except for one and a half, the rest failed."
"Either die, or don't believe, or get rid of your past life through your own efforts."
One and a half?
Not only Odin, but everyone else watching was curious.
Although the people couldn't understand the story Dio told, they grasped a concept.
That is, Eivor, it is Odin!
It's that simple!
Some people were looking at Eivor with burning eyes.
If she can successfully awaken Odin's power, is it possible to bring them to Valhalla?
The Vikings worshipped Odin, believing that those who died in battle would be enshrined in Valhalla to enjoy peace.
Once Eivor regains Odin's power, wouldn't it be a piece of cake to bring them into Valhalla?
Dio, looking at the terrified Eivor, explained, "One of them is Loki, and the other half is Tyr!"
"?"
When I type a question mark, it's not that I have a problem, it's that you have a problem!
Not only Odin, but also the clan warriors and residents on the shore who were unwilling to leave were stunned.
How come there's a "half" part?
“As the reincarnation of the God of War Tyr, Sigurd was pulled back by him or her at the very moment he was about to succeed.” Dio said, shaking the imprisoned Eivor with his telekinesis.
"As for the other one, it was Loki who came to his own realization."
As he spoke, Dio projected the Assassin's Creed illusions and Valhalla stories about Basil's and Odin's past, which he had obtained from other time travelers.
And so it became evening.
Dio and Odin couldn't have stayed in the river forever; they had already reached the large tree in the middle of the Black Raven clan.
“I never imagined that my teacher had such an experience.” The speaker was Haisenmu, Basim’s apprentice.
He saw in the projection his childhood self and his first meeting with his teacher, Basim.
Odin looked at the projection and glared at Dio with hostility.
"You already knew that, right?"
Dio chuckled and said, "That's perfectly normal, isn't it? I travel through time all the time. It would be strange if I didn't know that."
Odin did not reply, but looked at Eivor, who was sitting on the ground with a complicated expression.
"Have you ever thought about letting this child know in advance what his fate will be?" Odin suddenly asked.
"What will happen?" Dio scoffed. "They will know how wretched they will be in the future, and thus be able to change."
"You have to understand that the future is not static; it is full of variables. If you want to change your destiny, you have to make choices. If you make the same choices as before, you will only go further and further down the path predicted. If you make a different choice, you may make other changes."
As he spoke, Dio projected the story of Kratos.
"As a Spartan ghost, he came to another Asgard, where he made changes and altered what was once a certain death."
"Remember the prophecy you showed me? That was already very good. Let's make some changes to make it even better, okay?"
Dio stared directly into Odin's single eye, and Odin frowned and met his gaze.
After a long pause, Odin shook his head and laughed, "You really are something else. What if something goes wrong?"
Dio sensed what Odin was thinking and said with a slight smile, "I'm here. After all, I'm Hela's husband, aren't I?"
Odin nodded, as if he had figured something out. His divine power flowed around him, turning him golden.
The onlookers gasped and quickly moved away, then crawled down at a short distance away.
Dio ignored Odin and walked toward Eivor.
Eivor did not react to Odin's actions; she knelt on the ground in a meditative posture, her eyes closed, lost in thought.
Hearing the noise, Eivor turned around and saw it was Dio. He quickly bowed and said, "Greetings, Your Excellency."
Dio waved his hand and asked, "Forget all that nonsense. So, after seeing your future, what are your thoughts?"
Eivor didn't answer immediately. After a moment of contemplation, she asked, "What would happen if I helped accept Odin?"
Dio laughed as expected: "What do you think will happen? Odin has lived for countless years. Your memories and emotions from these past few decades will not have any effect on him. It's like throwing a pebble into a river. At most, it will splash a little water, and then it will return to calm."
"There will be no reaction. Odin will take control of your body. Although he may not be used to a woman's body, it doesn't matter. He can unlock the power sealed in your DNA, giving him his former divine power and the lifespan to live until the next cataclysmic disaster."
"And you, my poor Eivor, you will cease to exist, and there will be no record of you in history. Future generations will not remember that there was ever a person like you who lived in this world."
Dio smiled as he looked at Eivor, eager to see how she would react.
Eivor pondered again: "Then what would he choose from what I have now?"
Dio rolled his eyes: "Don't be ridiculous, Eivor. You're a Viking, don't you know what your Odin is like? To paraphrase Mimir: even if Odin says snow is white, don't believe him!"
state!
After saying that, Dio was hit on the head by Odin from behind.
When Dio clutched his head and cried out in pain, he realized that speaking ill of someone in front of their very being was a self-inflicted beating.
After understanding the key point of what Eivor Thanos said, he stood up and said, "Thank you for your explanation. My choice remains unchanged: power and glory are not as important as the happiness of being with family."
