Chapter 157 Wuwangpo

Chapter 157 Wuwangpo

The four of them arrived at Wuwangpo, a place permeated with a mysterious atmosphere. Tall, dense trees stood like silent giants on both sides of the road. Sunlight struggled to filter through the gaps between the leaves, creating patches of light that seemed like mysterious marks cast by nature on this mysterious place.

Yidou excitedly walked in front, waving his fists and shouting, "Haha, I want to see how powerful this so-called 'ghost' is. I'm not afraid of any monsters or ghosts!"

Ayato frowned slightly and said cautiously, "Don't be careless. If it's a member of the Oni Clan, that would be best, but unknown things are always fraught with danger. We must be careful and not act rashly."

Xinyang nodded and continued, "Brother is right. We should be cautious. This Wuwang Slope has always been mysterious. Who knows how many unknown dangers it hides."

Linghua followed quietly behind, a hint of worry in her beautiful eyes, and her hands unconsciously clenched the corners of her clothes.

As they walked, the four of them suddenly heard a strange sound, like someone whispering. The voice was vague, as if it came from far away, but also seemed to be whispering right next to their ears.

Yidou stopped immediately and said nervously and excitedly, "Listen, is that sound coming from a ghost? My heart is beating faster!"

Xinyang listened attentively, then shook his head and said, "Not necessarily. Maybe it's just the wind or the cry of an animal. But on this Wuwang Slope, we can't take anything lightly."

As the four continued forward, the sound grew clearer. It seemed to have substance, lingering in their ears and sending chills down their spines. Suddenly, a white figure flashed before their eyes.

Yidou shouted, "Wow! There's a ghost!" His voice was particularly loud in the quiet Wuwangpo, startling a flock of flying birds.

Ayato and Xinyang quickly drew their swords, the blades flashing with a cold light. They looked around vigilantly, their muscles tense, ready to deal with any possible danger at any time.

Linghua was also frightened and her face turned pale. She quickly hid behind Xinyang, grabbed the corner of Xinyang's clothes, and said in a trembling voice: "What...what is going on? I'm a little scared"

Xin Yang calmly analyzed, "Don't panic, let's see what happens first. Maybe it's just our illusion."

At this moment, the white figure reappeared, and this time they could see clearly that it was a white ghost. It was emitting a faint light and was erratic.

Ichito's eyes widened, "It really is a ghost!" Ichito quickly hid behind Ayato, his body trembling, but he still said stubbornly: "This master... This master is not afraid!"

The white ghost also noticed everyone. After hovering around them for a few circles, it floated towards a big tree.

The four people's attention was all focused on the big tree, but they didn't realize that a girl and a boy appeared behind them.

The ghost suddenly grew larger and floated in front of everyone. The girl also shouted "Hello."

Yidou was so frightened that he almost jumped up, stammering, "Wow...Wow! What...What is going on? There are ghosts and people. Are they going to eat me?"

Ayato quickly held his sword across his body, staring fiercely at the ghost and the girl, and said in a deep voice, "Who are you? What is your purpose?"

Xinyang and Linghua recognized that the person in front of them was Hu Tao, and quickly put away their swords to explain to Lingren, "Brother, don't misunderstand. Her name is Hu Tao and we are friends."

Walnut blinked mischievously. "Hey, I scared you, didn't I? Isn't this hall master's way of making an appearance very creative?"

Xin Yang frowned. "Hu Tao, what are you doing? Why are you playing tricks on me? Is there really some ghost in Wuwang Hill?"

Hu Tao waved her hands. "Alas, I'm not playing tricks. I've heard quite a few rumors about Wuwang Slope these past few days, so I asked some friends to come check out the situation, and that's when I ran into you guys."

Hu Tao pulled Chongyun beside her and said, "Come, come, let me introduce you. This is Chongyun, an exorcist. He has a pure yang body. No evil spirit can get close to him."

Chongyun greeted, "Hello everyone, I will definitely keep everyone safe."

Ayato nodded slightly, sheathed his sword, and said, "It turned out to be a false alarm. Since we are friends, let's find out what the unusual movements at Wuwangpo are."

Ichito also walked out from behind Ayato, looked at Kurumi and the ghost, and asked curiously: "Hey, little girl, what's going on with that ghost? It's not really going to eat people, is it?"

Walnut chuckled and said, "This ghost is my companion and won't hurt anyone. It seems to have sensed something about the unusual movements on Wuwang Hill, so I brought it along to investigate."

Linghua watched the ghost floating around Hu Tao. The fear in her eyes gradually faded, replaced by curiosity. Linghua asked softly, "Hu Tao, why is this ghost following you?"

Walnut smiled playfully and explained, "I'm the 77th head of the Wangsheng Hall. We often deal with things like this. As for this ghost, it's my destiny. It was wandering around Wuwang Hill before, and since I saw it had no ill intentions, I became its partner. And it's certainly much more sensitive to unusual movements here than we are."

As everyone chatted, they continued to explore Wuwang Slope. Chongyun remained vigilant, his keen senses detecting something unusual about the surrounding atmosphere. "Everyone, be careful! The yin energy here seems to be even stronger than before," Chongyun warned in a low voice.

Yidou scratched his head and muttered, "This yin energy is so strong that it makes me uncomfortable. It must not be from the ghost tribe. I don't want to stay in this damn place for too long."

Ayato frowned slightly, pondering a strategy. He looked around, observing the terrain and surroundings, trying to find some clues. Xinyang, on the other hand, carefully looked around, observing the changes in the surrounding environment, not missing any subtle movement.

Suddenly, the ghost let out a sharp cry and quickly flew off in one direction. Walnut's eyes lit up and he shouted, "Hurry up and follow it! It must have discovered something!" Everyone hurriedly followed the ghost and Walnut.

They came to a dark valley, filled with thick fog. The fog was as thick as insoluble ink, enveloping everything. Ghosts hovered in the valley, as if telling them that something was wrong.

Walnut looked around warily and said, "This place feels very unusual. Everyone must be careful."

Ayato calmly analyzed, "This fog might be strange. We can't rush in. Let's observe the surroundings first and then make a decision."

Chongyun nodded and took the initiative to stand in front of the crowd, ready to deal with any evil spirits that might appear. He held the sword tightly in his hand, his eyes determined.

As they hesitated, a sinister laugh echoed from the valley. It sounded like it came from the depths of the abyss, sending chills down one's spine. Everyone's heart tightened as a massive black shadow slowly emerged from the mist.

Yidou's eyes widened and he exclaimed, "What the hell is this?"

Hu Tao stared at the black shadow and said solemnly, "It seems that the unpredictable situation at Wuwangpo is indeed not simple. Everyone, prepare for battle!"

Everyone clenched their weapons, ready for battle. The shadow gradually approached, revealing a ferocious face.

At this tense moment, Chongyun suddenly shouted loudly, and the talisman in his hand flew out, turning into a ray of light and shooting towards the black shadow. The black shadow was hit by the light and let out a painful roar.

Xinyang quickly condensed the wind element to create a wind wall to surround the black shadow. Unexpectedly, balls of blue flames suddenly appeared around the black shadow. The fire spread instantly when it came into contact with the wind. Seeing this, Xinyang had to put away the wind element to prevent the fire from spreading again.

When the black shadow saw Xinyang retract his strength, it disappeared into the mist in the blink of an eye.

There was no time to catch up with the crowd and put out the fire. Fortunately, the fire was not big and did not cause a bigger fire.

Walnut gasped and said, "It seems that there are more secrets to this Wuwang Slope. We must continue to explore."

Ayato stood up and said, "In that case, let's continue on our journey and find the source of this unusual movement."
