Chapter 165 Auction
Chapter 165 Auction
"How do you feel?" Chen Hao raised his eyebrows slightly, and an exaggerated arc appeared at the corner of his mouth.
Jiang Man looked around and felt quite favorable. He nodded slightly, "Very good."
"This is a place I often come to. Come, sit down." He led Jiang Man to a seat.
Jiang Man looked at him puzzledly, "What are you doing here?"
"Wait a moment, you will know." Chen Hao patted her shoulder gently, signaling her to wait patiently.
Soon, the surrounding seats were filled up one after another.
Most of the guests who come here are of prominent status.
An old man dressed in a neat Tang suit slowly walked onto the stage.
"Ahem..." He coughed twice and waved his hand. A waiter came forward from the stage, carrying an exquisite violin case. "I believe everyone here is here for this. So, according to the old rules, the starting price is one million. The highest bidder wins."
"1500000."
"Two million."
"three million."
The sounds of bidding rose one after another and continued to rise.
Jiang Man leaned back in his chair and asked, "What kind of piano is this? Why is it so expensive?"
"This is a famous Italian violin from the 17th century, and it's been perfectly preserved to this day. I don't know where this old guy got this treasure from."
Jiang Man's eyes were involuntarily fixed on the violin case.
Chen Hao turned to look at her, "Sister-in-law, does this zither pique your interest?"
Jiang Man nodded. It would be a lie to say he wasn't interested. "I really want to see it with my own eyes."
"I knew you would be interested." Chen Hao smiled slightly and raised the folding fan in his hand. "Eight million."
As soon as he finished speaking, the whole audience fell silent.
Everyone looked at him in disbelief. The estimated market value of this guitar was only over six million.
Jiang Man suddenly opened his eyes wide and tugged at his sleeve, "What are you doing?"
"Don't you want to see it?" Chen Hao shrugged nonchalantly.
The old man on the stage immediately came to his senses, "Eight million once, eight million twice, eight million three times, deal!"
The waiter brought the violin case to Chen Hao.
Chen Hao offered the piano to Jiang Man by borrowing flowers to offer to him.
Everyone looked at this scene and they were no longer surprised. It was just a common way for men to make women happy.
Jiang Man glared at him angrily, then looked down and saw an intact violin. She stroked it with trembling fingers, and her eyes couldn't help but become moist. She hadn't touched it for many years.
"How is it? Are you satisfied?" Chen Hao asked her with a smile, revealing his white teeth.
Jiang Man sighed and slowly closed the box. "Can this be returned?" she asked.
Hearing this, Chen Hao's mouth twitched, "Sister-in-law, please don't be so disappointing."
"I don't know how to use this if you buy it. You might as well give me some food ingredients, which are both practical and nutritious." She handed the violin back to Chen Hao.
Seeing that she was not moved by his soft words or persuasion, Chen Hao's eyes drooped and he pretended to be pitiful. "Sister-in-law, you really don't want to accept it?"
Jiang Man glanced at him and said, "No."
"Then I won't be able to repay my savior." He sighed, "I originally wanted to enjoy a few more years of freedom, but since my sister-in-law insists, I won't hesitate any longer."
"Sister-in-law, since you don't accept gifts, I have no choice but to marry you!" He approached her, acting as if he was ready to die.
Jiang Man was amused by his appearance and stroked his forehead, "You are a living treasure, who needs you to pledge your love to me?"
"Then please accept this gift." He presented the violin case again.
Jiang Man looked at the violin case. She really liked this violin. "Okay." She nodded slightly.
"Sister-in-law, have you accepted the betrothal gift?" Chen Hao smiled happily when he saw her take the piano case.
"Nonsense!" Jiang Man glared at him. "You have no respect for your elders." She scolded him like an elder.
Chen Hao shrugged and continued to make his request with a playful smile, "Sister-in-law, as a reward, please play a song for me."
"I haven't touched it for many years." Jiang Man paused, feeling a little embarrassed.
"It's okay, I just let it go in one ear and out the other anyway." Chen Hao leaned back. "Go ahead, go ahead," he urged.
"Okay." Jiang Man nodded, agreeing.
The people on the stage continued to auction other items. Jiang Man looked at the violin in his hand. His love for it surpassed everything else and he was completely immersed in his own world.
"Sister-in-law..." The voice beside me sounded again.
Jiang Man came back to his senses, "What's wrong?"
"We're done filming, let's go." Chen Hao stood up and stretched out a hand.
Jiang Man held his hand without thinking, stood up, and then let go.
After sitting for so long, her legs were a little numb. She pounded her legs lightly and said, "Let's go."
Chen Hao nodded, his eyes lightly sweeping over the hand she had held, the warm feeling lingered for a long time.
Chen Hao took Jiang Man to taste some delicious food. From beginning to end, Jiang Man's eyes were always on the violin case, flashing with a little expectation.
Chen Hao was driving the car and asked casually, "Sister-in-law, do you really like playing the violin?"
Jiang Man nodded slightly, "Yes, I started learning it when I was young, but later on for some reason, I gave it up."
Chen Hao remained silent, feeling an inexplicable sense of frustration in his heart. He found that he was not as important as a violin in Jiang Man's heart.
Jiang Man looked at the scenery passing by outside the car window. This road was not the direction home. "Where are we going?" she asked curiously.
"A good place." Chen Hao smiled mysteriously.
Jiang Man shrugged indifferently, then closed his eyes and pretended to rest.
After an unknown amount of time, Chen Hao gently patted Jiang Man's shoulder and said, "Sister-in-law, we're here."
Jiang Man woke up as if from a dream. She rubbed her sleepy eyes and heard the sound of waves hitting the rocks. "Is this the beach?" she asked in surprise.
Chen Hao smiled and nodded.
"What are you doing here?" Jiang Man looked at Chen Hao puzzledly.
Chen Hao's smile shone like a star in the moonlight. "Didn't you say you wanted to play a song for me? How can I do that without a beautiful setting?"
"Yeah, you're right." Jiang Man nodded, unbuckled his seat belt, and got out of the car gracefully.
There are a few soft street lights dotted around, and the entire night sky is like deep blue satin, inlaid with countless bright stars.
Jiang Man followed Chen Hao and slowly walked down the stairs. The sand under his feet was fine and soft.
Because the light was dim, Jiang Man walked carefully, afraid of falling.
After walking for an unknown amount of time, when Jiang Man looked up, a bright moon suddenly came into view.
She was so surprised that she was speechless.
Looking at Jiang Man's expression, Chen Hao raised a smug smile and lay down directly. "The scenery here is nice, isn't it?"
