Chapter 1071 Stay Away From Me

Chapter 1071 Stay Away From Me

Several Filipino soldiers immediately landed on the island and went to the person lying on the ground.

Someone called out, "Ramos, Ramos, wake up!" But after calling for a long time, Ramos did not respond at all.

They quickly lifted Ramos onto the speedboat and then transported him to the warship.

Someone brought a glass of water, which Ramos drank little by little. After a short while, Ramos slowly woke up.

The captain approached Ramos and, seeing that he was awake, asked, "Ramos, what happened? Where is the others?"

Ramos said, "Give me something to eat. If I don't eat soon, I won't be able to hold on any longer."

Someone brought him a bowl of rice porridge, which Ramos drank down in a few gulps. He let out a long sigh and said, "We arrived here as planned that day and successfully landed. We were all very happy and were preparing to have a good celebration when everything on the ship mysteriously disappeared."

The captain asked in confusion, "Disappeared? It wasn't on land that it was stolen. How could it disappear at sea?"

Ramos shook his head: "We don't know either. Food, water, diesel, solar panels—everything except coal and smoke has disappeared. The worst part is, there's smoke but no fire. Give me a cigarette!"

Someone lit a cigarette for him, and Ramos took a deep drag. He immediately felt lightheaded and somewhat intoxicated.

This is normal. If a smoker doesn't smoke for a long time, when they smoke again, it feels like they're drunk and feel terrible.

Ramos continued, "Without food or water, our captain sent me to swim over to see if there was anything to eat on the island. I searched for ages but found nothing, not even a single wild vegetable. I was starving!"

The captain then asked, "The grounding was successful, but what about the ship? And the crew?"

Ramos shook his head: "I don't know either. When I came back, I found the ship was gone, but there was no diesel fuel on board, so they couldn't have sailed away."

The captain thought for a moment and said, "That means the beaching attempt failed. The high tide lifted the ship and it drifted away. What kind of wind was blowing that day?"

Ramos thought for a moment and said, "It seems to be Dongfeng, yes, it's Dongfeng!" The captain immediately ordered, "Set sail and head west to search."

The captain immediately steered the warship westward. A group of people stood on the deck, looking around for the warship that had run out of fuel.

Time passed slowly, and after most of the day, when the sun was almost gone from the sea, a sharp-eyed soldier on the ship finally pointed in a direction and said, "There they are."

Everyone looked in the direction he was pointing, and sure enough, there was a yellow and blue dot where the sea met the sky.

The captain immediately steered in that direction. As darkness fell, they finally caught up with the ship.

From a distance, several people on the ship were waving at them. The captain looked puzzled. Why were there only a few people? Where were the others?

Once the two ships were moored together, the captain led a group of soldiers to jump onto the floating ship.

Several lively soldiers rushed forward to greet them.

The captain asked, "Why are there only a few of you? Where are the others?" The soldiers replied, "They're all starving to death, lying around."

The captain then asked, "What's wrong with you guys? Aren't you hungry?"

One of the soldiers said shyly, "We ate something, but they didn't like it and wouldn't eat it."

The captain frowned deeply: "What is it that you're complaining about? You'd rather starve than eat it?"

The soldier chuckled, "Cow dung." The captain, seeing the bits of grass still stuck between his teeth, felt a wave of nausea.

He said to the soldiers, "Get away from me, ugh!"

The captain immediately ordered the soldiers to fetch water, which was then given to the dozen or so people who were starving to death.

After drinking the water, the dozen or so people finally regained some strength. Not eating was somewhat bearable, but not having water was extremely uncomfortable.

Two of the younger children started crying.

The smokers immediately pulled out their cigarettes to borrow a light. After just two puffs, they were all drunk.

The captain asked the grounded captain, "What exactly happened? Did you manage to land successfully? How did you end up drifting so far?"
