Chapter 119 Killing

Chapter 119 Killing

"don't want……"

Mrs. Maria pleaded desperately, her eyes filled with fear and helplessness.

Her hand holding the scissors trembled like a leaf, each fingertip revealing the despair in her heart.

The blade of the scissors gleamed coldly in the dim candlelight, reflecting the mottled tear tracks on her face.

However, the man before them remained unmoved. His deep eyes held no pity, only unrestrained, maniacal laughter. His laughter echoed in the empty room like the hooting of an owl, sending chills down one's spine.

He began impatiently to remove his clothes, and with each piece he took off, his excitement grew.

His breathing was rapid, his heart was pounding, as if each undressing brought him closer to some forbidden pleasure. He knew his behavior was abnormal, and even wondered if he had contracted some terrible disease, but the morbid pleasure was irresistible.

Since inheriting the title of Earl, his hobby has grown wildly, as if by magic.

Power and status gave him more opportunities to satisfy his desires, and he became increasingly unable to control himself. In recent years, he has been seeking new prey almost every so often to satisfy his ever-growing desires.

This time, the wheel of fate unfortunately turned against Maria. She was just an ordinary woman, but through a chance encounter, she became a new target on his list of conquests.

All women, like Mary at this moment, were struggling painfully in the abyss of despair. Their tears, their pleas, were nothing more than seasoning in a game to him.

Afterwards, they often could not escape their fate, because in this man's world, their life and death were merely decisions made on a whim.

When he's in a bad mood, he won't hesitate to end their lives, just like crushing an insignificant insect.

When his mood improves, he might choose to spare their lives, but that doesn't mean they will be redeemed. They live, yet live in a fear and shadow deeper than death itself.

In this power game, no one will speak up for these vulnerable women. Should he report it to law enforcement? But he has informants and cronies within law enforcement.

Even if they manage to escape his clutches, even if she has the courage to seek help, once discovered by his henchmen, death still awaits her.

Even if law enforcement arrives, what can change? Ultimately, these cases will be overshadowed by his power and influence.

They would not openly defy a count for the sake of a mere woman. In this rigidly hierarchical society, the fate of an insignificant person was far less important than maintaining the stability of the power structure.

Perhaps reporting it directly to the captain of the law enforcement team might offer some hope, but the captain is extremely busy. Whether he would even pay attention to such an ordinary case, or be willing to stand up for a common woman, is a highly improbable question. For ordinary citizens, getting in touch with the captain of the law enforcement team is virtually impossible.

Therefore, this man was so unscrupulous; his behavior was so unbridled because of the power he held and his prestigious status.

In his eyes, these women were nothing more than his playthings, and it was an honor for them to please him.

...

Harvey burst through the courtyard gate, his face ashen, his eyes blazing with barely contained fury.

He stared at the group of people in the courtyard, his voice cold and hard, "Where is my mother?"

The guards in the courtyard were startled by the sudden destruction. "Who are you?"

"How dare you! You've ruined the Earl's plans!"

Harvey's gaze swept over them, wasting no energy on them; his only goal was to find his mother. He ignored their shouts and strode into the house.

"Stop him!" The people in the courtyard reacted and rushed forward to try to stop Harvey.

But Harvey was too fast; their attempts to stop him were futile. In the blink of an eye, Harvey had crossed the hall and arrived at his mother's room.

The scene in the room made him lose his mind instantly; his anger exploded like ignited gunpowder.

The man, naked, was about to assault Harvey's mother when he saw Harvey burst in. He was about to shout when Harvey rushed in front of him.

"you…"

The man's eyes widened in disbelief that he had been attacked. He pointed a trembling finger at Harvey standing in front of him, but before he could utter a single word, his body collapsed limply and remained motionless.

Harvey quickly stepped over the fallen man and ran to his mother. His movements were gentle yet firm as he carefully took the scissors from her hand.

He held Maria in his arms, his voice filled with guilt and heartache: "I'm sorry, Mother, I'm late."

As Mary looked at her son, her heart, which had been pounding with fear, finally calmed down.

She hugged Harvey tightly, tears streaming down her face. Her voice trembled, but it was no longer despair; instead, it was a sense of security and relief brought by the arrival of her son. "Harvey, my child, you've finally come."

She looked at the corpse lying on the ground, and fear surged through her again. Trembling, she asked, "What do we do? Harvey, what... what do we do now?"

Harvey gently patted his mother's back, his eyes firm and his tone steady: "Don't worry."

Just then, the guards who had followed Harvey rushed into the room. As soon as they entered, they saw the Earl lying in a pool of blood. In their terror, they shouted, "Your Excellency the Earl!"

But before their shouts could even leave their lips, Harvey turned and launched his attack. His movements were swift and fierce; an invisible force blasted them out of the room, their bodies crashing through the walls and landing heavily on the ground in the yard, raising dust and creating a scene of utter chaos.

Harvey slowly stepped out of the room, his face expressionless, as cold and indifferent as a sculpted stone statue. His gaze swept over the guards in the courtyard, his detached eyes scrutinizing a group of dead prisoners.

Seeing Harvey's expression, the guards in the courtyard lost their last bit of hesitation.

They knew that today's events could not be resolved peacefully, and the man before them clearly wouldn't give up so easily. They had no choice; the Count was dead here, and they could only take this murderer back, trading his life for their own safety.

They then launched a swift and ruthless attack on Harvey.

Harvey stood still, black magical energy beginning to emerge from his hands. That energy exuded a chilling aura of death, sending shivers down one's spine.

With a gesture, black magic swept towards the guards like a storm. Screams echoed through the courtyard as guards fell one by one, their attacks proving utterly powerless against Harvey's magic.

Inside the room, Maria covered her ears tightly with her hands, trying to block out the screams outside.

Her eyes filled with tears, her heart brimming with guilt and pain. She murmured softly, "I'm sorry, Harvey..."
