All-around teacher at the magic academy

Chapter 118 Unfortunate Encounters

Chapter 118 Unfortunate Encounters

“Harvey, why don’t you go to the academy and invite Professor Leon and Professor Lian? It’s the weekend, they should be free.”

As Mrs. Maria arranged the flowers on the table, she called out to Harvey, who was reading in the study.

Her voice was soft and full of anticipation, clearly excited about the upcoming party.

"Okay, mother."

Harvey put down his book, stood up, tidied his clothes to make sure he looked neat and presentable, and then walked towards the door.

He was also filled with anticipation. He had always respected his teachers, Leon and Lian, and it was a very pleasant thing for him to be able to invite them to his home.

"Drive carefully."

Mrs. Maria added with concern, her gaze following Harvey until he disappeared outside the door.

"I know, mother."

Harvey's voice came from outside the door, full of confidence and ease.

...

At this moment, Leon was strolling leisurely with Lian in the academy's corridor, his thoughts drifting to their dinner plans.

This weekend, he plans to treat himself to something special to reward himself for his hard work over the past few days.

Normally, he might choose to cook for himself in the small kitchen in his dorm room, but today, he prefers to relax.

"How about we..."

Just as Leon was about to suggest going to a restaurant off-campus, Harvey's voice interrupted him.

"Professor Leon, Professor Lian." Harvey came running from a distance, sounding a little out of breath.

Why the rush?

Lian asked with concern, looking at Harvey who was slightly out of breath.

"Excuse me for disturbing you, but my mother would like to invite you two teachers to our home for dinner tonight, so she asked me to come and invite you."

Harvey, while catching his breath, conveyed Mrs. Maria's invitation.

Upon hearing Harvey's words, Lean gently turned her head, her gaze softly falling on Leon beside her, her eyes seemingly silently asking for his thoughts.

Leon smiled slightly and replied, "Perfect timing, we haven't eaten yet. Mrs. Maria's invitation is just in time."

Leon always enjoyed these moments of gathering together to share food, and although it meant he wouldn't be able to spend time alone with Lean tonight, he didn't mind. In his view, they had countless future times to spend together.

Upon hearing this, Harvey's face lit up with a bright smile. "That's wonderful! Mother is already waiting for you at home."

Leon nodded, then said to Harvey, "You go back first, we'll pack up a bit and be there in a bit."

"Okay, I'll leave first."

Harvey responded and turned to leave quickly, seemingly eager to go home and tell his mother the good news.

After watching Harvey leave, Leon turned to Lean and said softly, "We can't go empty-handed, it would be impolite."

He thought about it for a while and decided to stop by a small shop near the college to buy some gifts on his way to Harvey's house.

Lean nodded in agreement; she knew Leon was always very thoughtful.

The two then returned to their respective rooms, tidied up briefly, and prepared to head to Harvey's house to enjoy a delightful and heartwarming dinner.

...

Maria was busy in the kitchen when she heard sounds from the yard. She was slightly startled, wondering why Harvey and the two teachers had returned so quickly.

She wiped her hands, put down the kitchen utensils, and walked out of the kitchen to greet the guests.

However, when she walked through the porch and into the yard, the sight before her made her freeze in shock.

A group of strangers stood in the courtyard, their figures standing out starkly in the setting sun. A sense of unease rose within Maria, and she asked warily, "Is there something you need?"

Instead of answering her question, the people silently stood side by side, making way for a narrow passage.

Maria frowned; she felt an unprecedented tension.

Then, a man slowly emerged from behind the crowd, his steps steady and powerful.

Maria looked at him, and the man's eyes revealed undisguised malice. Her heart raced, and her intuition told her that these people had come with ill intentions.

Maria realized the situation was urgent and was about to scream for help when a large hand suddenly reached out from behind her and tightly covered her mouth.

Her cry was suppressed in her throat, turning into a muffled groan.

Maria's body stiffened instantly. She began to struggle, but the person behind her was incredibly strong, and she couldn't break free.

Maria's heart pounded like a drum, and her hands flailed helplessly in the air, trying to break free from the iron grip, but her efforts were in vain.

Her strength was negligible compared to that of a well-trained magician.

"Take her inside," the man ordered coldly, his voice devoid of any emotion.

At his command, Maria felt several hands grab her arms and legs, and she was lifted up effortlessly and dragged into the house.

Her shoes scraped against the cobblestones, making a screeching sound, but she couldn't utter any cries for help.

The man walked ahead. He did not choose to take Maria directly back to the Earl's mansion. Instead, he chose to act here. This secrecy and the sudden attack gave him a morbid excitement.

Maria struggled fiercely, her eyes wide open, filled with fear and confusion.

Her mind was in turmoil, and she had only one thought in her mind: she hoped that someone would discover her predicament in time and come to her rescue.

She silently cried out in her heart, "Ms. Leon, Ms. Lean, where are you? Harvey, please bring them to save me!"

Her tears flowed uncontrollably, a mixture of despair and fear.

Mrs. Maria was roughly thrown onto the bed, and felt a sharp pain the moment her body hit the mattress.

She tried to get up quickly and escape, but her attempt was in vain, and she was once again violently thrown back onto the bed.

Maria's panic reached its peak as she realized she might not be able to escape.

She quickly reached out and grabbed the scissors on the bedside table. Her fingers trembled as she gripped the handles, and she said in a tearful voice, "Don't come any closer, I... I'll use this to defend myself."

The count walked slowly into the room, his gaze indifferent, showing no concern for Maria's threat.

He waved his hand, signaling the others to leave the room first, confidently believing that he alone was enough to deal with a woman who couldn't even kill a chicken.

After all, he was a powerful magician; how could a panicked woman possibly harm him?

Maria gripped the scissors tightly, her eyes filled with despair and fear.

She watched the count approach, each step like a heavy blow to her heart. Her body tensed, ready to make a final stand.

The atmosphere in the room was extremely tense, and Maria's heartbeat was exceptionally clear in the silence.
